Job Description

Operations: Assessment & Remediation Full Time Alberta Hybrid Location: Medicine Hat / Redcliff, Alberta (Hybrid field/office) About Us We are a mid-sized, Alberta-based environmental consulting firm focused on upstream oil & gas site assessments, remediation, risk-based closure, and reclamation. We combine deep technical experience with strong data systems, digital field tools, and automation to deliver faster, clearer results for clients. We are expanding our footprint in southeastern Alberta and are looking for a seasoned regional leader who already understands this market and wants more autonomy, better tools, and a clear path to build something of their own inside a supportive platform. The Opportunity If youve spent years leading environmental work in SE Alberta building a local office, managing a regional team, and owning relationships with producers and municipalities but feel constrained by legacy systems, slow decision-making, or limited tech adoption, this role is designed for you. You will: Lead and grow our presence in the Medicine Hat / Redcliff region. Help shape how we deliver upstream closure, reclamation, and risk-based projects in SE Alberta. Have a direct line to ownership and real influence on strategy, not just execution. Key Responsibilities Lead regional operations in SE Alberta: business development, project delivery, and team leadership. Manage and execute upstream O&G environmental projects (Phase 13 ESAs, remediation, reclamation, DSAs, risk-based closure). Build and maintain strong relationships with local producers, municipalities, and program administrators. Scope, price, and oversee projects from proposal through to invoicing. Recruit, mentor, and develop local staff as the office grows. Champion the use of digital field tools, data systems, and (where appropriate) automation to improve efficiency and transparency. What You Bring 10+ years of upstream oil & gas environmental consulting experience in Alberta, with significant time spent in the Medicine Hat / Brooks / Suffield / SE Alberta area. Experience leading a regional office, business unit, or large portfolio of projects. Strong background in reclamation and remediation, including wellsite and facility closure. Solid understanding of Albertas regulatory framework (AER, AEP) and closure/liability programs. Eligibility for or possession of a professional designation (P.Ag., P.Geo., P.Eng., P.Biol., or equivalent). Comfort with change and a genuine interest in working within a more tech-enabled, data-driven consulting model. What We Offer A chance to build and lead a SE Alberta office with real authority, not just a remote outpost. Direct access to ownership and input on how we grow in the region. Competitive compensation, benefits, and performance-based incentives tied to regional results. Support from an established technical, data, and operations team so youre not building alone. #J-18808-Ljbffr
