About the Role Your Opportunity! Reporting directly to the Senior Manager, Reporting & FP&A, Lankin Investments is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst, Reporting & FP&A. The individual will be supporting the finance and reporting for Lankins multi-family real estate portfolio of investment funds and will work closely to serve the reporting needs of our investor groups. The role will also support fund-level return calculations and work closely with multiple business units, including Corporate Finance, Property Accounting, Asset Management, Investments, and third-party partners. The successful individual should have real estate experience and be familiar with reporting of real estate assets. The successful candidate will be driven for growth and genuinely curious; enjoys working in a fast-paced environment; can multi-task, efficiently prioritize and work under timelines and manage multiple stakeholders; is detail and process-oriented with a high sense of ownership in their work; and has a strong foundation in accounting and reporting. Responsibilities Prepare and manage the quarterly and annual external stakeholder financial reporting, including MD&A external quarterly reporting; Prepare external reporting for external investment partners, including property packages and quarterly asset management reports. Assist in the preparation of the financial reporting to board members including the preparation of reporting packages and presentations; Assist in the annual budgeting process, including coordinating with various stakeholders across the organization, reviewing the consolidation and analysis of regional budgets and preparing summary presentations for senior management and Board of Directors; Collaborate with various departments to assist in the quarterly re-forecasting of the annual budgets; Prepare the monthly financial reporting for various levels of management, including senior management, property management, asset management and other business unit leaders; including the forecasting, analysis of variances and providing insight of operational key performance metrics of the portfolios; Assist in the analysis of quarterly results and the preparation of comprehensive reports for senior management and Board of Directors; Assist in the annual Offering Memorandum preparation and annual updates. Perform and manage ad hoc projects, analysis and reporting required by senior management; Complete market research for the specific submarkets and make recommendations to the Asset Management team based on results, including pricing of market rents, parking, storage and other services/amenities offered; Analyze revenue and expenses, perform variance analysis, identify trends and make recommendations for improvement; Qualifications Undergraduate degree in accounting, finance, or other relevant technical discipline. CPA designated or in progress, with 3-5 years of relevant experience in the industry. Experience in public accounting, Corporate FP&A, and/or external financial reporting an asset. Experience with working in the real estate space, asset management experience is an asset. Strong Excel modelling skills, ability to construct professional PowerPoint presentations. Strong understanding of statements of earnings, balance sheet, cash flows, NAV, IRR, ROIC, etc. Keen sense of how financial statements and note disclosures need to be presented and reviewed. Genuinely curious with a desire to understand key metrics and drivers. High attention to detail, understanding of accounting principles, specifically IFRS. Strong customer focus with excellent relationship building and a collaborative working style. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization. Ability to handle competing deliverables with accurate/timely delivery under tight timelines. Experience with YARDI or other real estate centric ERP is an asset.
