Literacy Link Eastern Ontario is seeking volunteers who are passionate about literacy and community service to join us as members of our Board of Directors to help us achieve our mission of empowering literacy service providers and learners in Eastern Ontario. We are located in Brockville and are seeking volunteer Board members from the general area of southeastern Ontario, including Picton, Napanee, Kingston, Brockville and Cornwall areas. Starts Apr 21st 2026 1-3hrs / month 2 Spots Available of 2 Suitable For: Adults (18+) This Position has an accompanying Application Form: Our Board meets online on the third Tuesday of the month and in-person 1-2 times a year. Required Qualifications We welcome a diverse range of skills, abilities and experiences to join our volunteer Board of Directors. We are in need of diverse perspectives and professional skills including but not restricted to finance, marketing, legal, and adult education. Position Responsibilities Our Board meets online monthly and in-person 1-2 times a year. Time required: 2-4 hours/month. To achieve the overall mission of the organization, in collaboration with the Executive Director, all board members are responsible for: Providing leadership and guiding direction Assist with determining policies for the organization Ensuring the fiscal and financial health of the organization Monitoring overall organizational performance Attend and be prepared for Board and other meetings as required Assist in developing and maintaining positive relations among the board members, staff and community to enhance the agency mission Assist in the recruitment of new Board members Ensure that the agency adheres to all federal and provincial privacy legislation Joining our Board of Directors offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the growth and success of our organization and the adult education system in Ontario.
