Join The Team ERCO Worldwide is looking for a Plant Manager to lead our North Vancouver team! The Plant Manager sets the direction and oversees all activities related to local plant operations (from strategy development through to implementation, execution and evaluation) while driving alignment with the corporate strategic direction and established systems and directives. Delivering on a broad range of responsibilities, the Plant Manager must balance an ability to draw on wellestablished general management capabilities with a willingness to get directly involved in the operations (applying specialty/technical skills) as required. Acting as the key connection between head office and the local plant, the Plant Manager is the lead public spokesperson within the local community and champions relationships with diverse stakeholder groups such as community leaders, Government and regulatory bodies. Ensures plant compliance to both regulatory and company training requirements. The Role Make (or actively support) critical decisions that impact the local site (i.e., capital projects, staffing, performance, environmental, safety, supplier negotiations, Collective Bargaining Agreement negotiations, production, costing/budgeting etc.) Identify efficiency opportunities (i.e., production, cost) and/or implement appropriate solutions to optimize local plant operations. Monitor relevant regulations to ensure compliance in areas such as employee safety, contractor safety, local manufacturing (i.e., electrical), environment etc. Champion development and implementation of key people initiatives (i.e., talent development, skills planning, organization design, hiring/onboarding, succession management etc.) Maintain a continuous focus on critical factors pertaining to effective plant operations (i.e., ethical practices, safety, security and environmental factors etc.) Monitor overall employee engagement and site morale; promote/ensure a positive/respectful workplace. Monitor and interpret potential impact of industry and product market trends to ERCO, with a specific focus on assessing implications to local operations. The Person Bachelors Degree in Engineering with a background in Chemical, Mechanical and/or Business is required. Knowledge of Responsible Care Codes and Practices, Quality Systems, Incident Investigation, Problem Solving, Contracts and Service Agreements, Mechanical Integrity, Process Safety, Business Platforms (JDE EOne, Dayforce, Coupa, SharePoint, Microsoft Office Suite, KMS/MOC) is required. 10+ years of experience in Plant Operations and Management, Budgeting/Cost Management, Safety and Environmental Leadership, Community Outreach, Dealing with Governmental Regulators, Customer Contact. Proven track record of 10+ years plant operations experience in a leadership role in the pulp chemicals arena coupled with superior team leadership experience. Demonstrated experience working in a unionized environment, including responsibility for collective bargaining agreement (CBA) negotiations and leading proactive labour relations management. Ability to monitor and interpret the potential impact of industry, customer, product and market trends (local, national and global) on the business, with a specific focus on assessing implications to the pulp chemical market. Strong analytical skills (i.e., sales data, expense reports) to help in decisionmaking and judgments. Related experience in vendor/contractor negotiations is an asset. Experience in labor negotiations is required to work in specified sites. Ability to maintain a continuous focus on critical factors pertaining to effective operations (i.e., ethical practices, safety, Responsible Care, environmental factors etc.). Financial abilities; including budgets. Successful background in recruiting and developing teams. Occasional travel as the role requires.
