POSITION SUMMARY Reporting to the Director of Patient Care, The Patient Flow Supervisor is responsible for managing and coordinating patient movement across the Ottawa and Brockville Forensic Treatment Units (FTUs). The role support timely, safe, and coordinated transitions into, within, and out of the Integrated Forensic Program. RESPONSIBILITIES Coordinate admission from courts, corrections and community sources; maintain real-time awareness of beds, waitlists, referrals, and clinical capacity; align discharges with upcoming admissions and coordinate smooth transitions with receiving services. Align all intake with legal, clinical, and operational requirements, maintain accurate records for referrals, admissions, transfers, and discharges, identify delays, trends, and ALC (Alternate Level of Care) concerns, escalating issues as needed. Serve as a central point of contact for flow-related issues, liaise with clinical teams, legal and correctional partners, and operational leaders; support peer Flow Supervisors and participate in planning and flow optimization initiatives. Lead recruitment, onboarding, scheduling, attendance, and vacation approval; promote teamwork, retention, and morale; support staff development through evaluations, coaching, training and ongoing feedback. Monitor system metrics, analyze trends, and prepare dashboards or summaries to support operational decision-making. Work in a manner that complies with staff and patient/client safety practices, policies and procedures of The Royal. QUALIFICATIONS Undergraduate degree or Post-Secondary Education in Health Administration, Nursing, Social work or related health or human services field. Equivalent experience in a similar coordinator role may be considered. Minimum 3 years experience in patient flow coordination, health system navigation, or clinical operations. Familiarity with legal frameworks and mental health legislation. Skilled at addressing staff conflicts, managing union relations, negotiating solutions that balance organizational needs and employee concern. Strong organizational and time management skills required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to manage competing priorities in a complex environment. Skilled in collaborative problem-solving and cross-functional coordination. Competence in using clinical information systems, referral tracking tools, and data reporting software. English level A- is mandatory in oral expression, comprehension, reading and writing. Bilingual (French/English) is considered an asset. #J-18808-Ljbffr
