Harvest has an immediate opening for a Plant Operator , reporting to the Lead Operator/Foreman. This is a contract position based out of the Hay River Facility . We are 63 kilometers north of Rainbow Lake, AB. Most of the Hay River assets are located within BC. The position is a 15 on/13 off shift. This is a camp position. Responsibilities Ensure field operations follow health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures Participate in safety and environmental inspections at facilities and wells Perform day-to-day production related activities for area and properties: identify optimization techniques to increase production and/or reduce downtime; coordinate day-to-day operation and upkeep of facilities, roads, and pipelines; monitor wells and modify daily route based on downtime, production, and risk factors Participate in operating cost reduction initiatives Assist with inventory management for area; source equipment for performing maintenance tasks in accordance with procurement procedures Identify field maintenance needs with the Lead Operator; assist in the development of preventative maintenance plans, procedures, and schedules Input key field data into production reporting system in line with operational requirements Maintenance of rotating equipment, chemical pumps, housekeeping and other tasks Troubleshoot and resolve daily reporting of production problems, environmental or safety incidents Perform downtime analysis Assist with field operating cost control and management, participate in operating cost reduction initiatives Train, coach, and mentor operators Qualifications and Experience 4th Class Steam Certification Technical accreditation, diploma, or degree related to the industry or equivalent experience in the field High School Diploma or equivalent Valid Standard First Aid and H2S certifications Valid Class 5 drivers license with a clean driving record Minimum of 5 years in the oil and gas industry Minimum of 2 years as a senior operator Extensive knowledge of SCADA-based control systems and PVR production reporting systems Software application knowledge: Microsoft office applications, Roughneck, Comply Works, Cost Tracking Skills Well-informed of ABSA/BCER regulatory requirements Safety conscious and ability to lead by example Strong mechanical and technical skills, trouble shooting, and problem-solving skills Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and positive attitude Time management skills, with ability to balance multiple priorities, and meet critical timelines Strong leadership qualities Positive team-player Ability to work unsupervised An offer of employment for this safety sensitive position will be conditional on an applicant successfully passing a pre-employment Drug & Alcohol and Physical Demands test.
