Overview Organizational Description: Assiniboine Park Conservancy (Assiniboine Park and Zoo) is a team of dedicated staff and volunteers who employ visionary leadership and best practices that protect, nurture and enhance Assiniboine Park and Assinibone Park Zoo to provide extraordinary visitor experiences for present and future generations. Volunteer Opportunity Details Volunteer Opportunity ID: 5742 Description of Duties This opportunity is for youth ages 14 to 18 looking to earn community service hours while working with visitors at the Zoo and The Leaf. Teen Ambassadors greet visitors, provide directions, help create a welcoming environment, and more! This opportunity requires a commitment of a minimum of one (3 hour) volunteer shift per week for July and August. Skills Required must be 14 years old before December 31st, 2025 and younger than 18 years old fluency in spoken and written English is essential friendly and outgoing with the ability to start conversations sound judgment and tact in solving problems and dealing with the general public the ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time outdoors or indoors (accommodations can be made upon request) or use mobility aids interest in animal welfare and conservation Note: the primary method of communication with volunteers is email. Access to personal email is essential.
