Reporting directly to the Associate Vice President (AVP), Facilities , this role is a key leadership position responsible for advancing the strategic agenda of NAITs Facilities portfolio. The Manager of Infrastructure Initiatives works across multiple functional areasincluding Facilities Management, Capital Projects, Planning and Asset Management, Health, Safety & Environment, Emergency Management, and Protective Servicesto drive strategic initiatives, operational excellence, and institutional alignment. This role provides high-level strategic coordination, project leadership, performance oversight, and executive support to the AVP, ensuring that Facilities initiatives are integrated, measurable, and aligned with NAITs institutional priorities. The successful candidate will operate with significant autonomy, influence senior stakeholders, and help shape the long-term direction of infrastructure, capital planning, risk management, and operational performance at NAIT. Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership & Portfolio Integration Develop and execute multi-year strategic plans for the Facilities portfolio. Translate institutional priorities into actionable Facilities strategies, initiatives, and performance measures. Coordinate cross-functional initiatives across administrative, academic, and other portfolios ensuring alignment, accountability, and measurable outcomes. Support development of business cases, prioritization frameworks, and executive level briefings for senior leadership. Lead and coordinate enterprise-level Facilities initiatives, including infrastructure modernization, optimization, sustainability, safety programs, and operational transformation. Develop project plans, governance structures, and performance dashboards. Monitor timelines, budgets, risks, and dependencies across multiple concurrent initiatives. Identify emerging risks and develop mitigation strategies in collaboration with functional leaders. Ensure strategic initiatives transition effectively into operational execution. Operational Excellence & Performance Management Establish and manage performance frameworks and KPIs across the Facilities portfolio. Analyze operational data (asset performance, maintenance metrics, capital delivery, safety indicators, financial performance) to inform decision-making. Identify opportunities for process improvement, service enhancement, and cost optimization. Lead portfolio-wide continuous improvement initiatives. Foster consistency in reporting, planning, and operational governance. Resource & Financial Strategy Support portfolio-level budget development and financial planning processes. Assist in aligning capital and operating expenditures with strategic priorities. Contribute to scenario analysis, financial modeling, and long-term infrastructure funding strategies. Provide oversight and strategic advice related to P&L impacts, capital capitalization strategies, and lifecycle costing. Risk Management, Compliance & Resilience Identify and assess operational and strategic risks across Facilities functions. Support enterprise risk management alignment within Facilities. Contribute to business continuity planning, emergency preparedness coordination, and compliance oversight. Ensure regulatory, environmental, and safety compliance frameworks are integrated into portfolio strategy. Stakeholder Engagement & Leadership Support Act as a strategic liaison between the AVP and Directors/Managers within the Facilities portfolio. Facilitate cross-departmental collaboration to promote integration and enhance service delivery. Represent the Facilities portfolio on institutional committees and strategic initiatives as delegated. Provide leadership support, mentorship, and guidance to emerging leaders within Facilities. Qualifications & Experience Related post-secondary education in Engineering, Business, Architecture, Planning, Facilities Management, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. Minimum of 810 years of progressive experience in facilities management, project management, infrastructure strategy, operations leadership, or institutional strategy roles. Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in complex organizations. Experience in post-secondary, healthcare, municipal, or large institutional environments is an asset. Professional designations (P.Eng., PMP, FMP, RPA, CPA, etc.) considered an asset. Equivalencies (combination of education and experience) may be considered. Applicants with education credentials earned outside of Canada should have their credentials evaluated by World Education Services or the International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS).
