Senior Financial Analyst The Regional District of Kootenay Boundary (RDKB) is located in the southern interior of British Columbia and prides itself on providing smart, sustainable governance and services to its constituents throughout our 8,200 km 2 region. The RDKB is currently seeking applications to fill a permanent, full-time Senior Financial Analyst position in Trail, BC. The RDKB has expanded the Finance department to meet growing regulatory and auditing requirements, as well as to assist in the responsible administration of grant monies across the district. Reporting to the Manager of Finance, the Financial Analyst will provide reporting, analysis and information to leaders across the organization to support public service delivery throughout the region. As part of the Finance department, the Financial Analyst will work across a range of projects, including the RDKBs award-winning annual report, auditing and budgets, and help to ensure the integrity of financial reporting and accounting for the organization. Responsibilities Provide reporting, analysis and information to support public service delivery across the region, reporting to the Manager of Finance. Participate in a range of finance projects, including annual reporting, auditing and budgets, to help ensure the integrity of financial reporting and accounting. Collaborate with leaders across the organization to support financial decision-making. Qualifications University degree in commerce, business administration or a related field. Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation in good standing is preferred, or enrolled in CPA PEP with CORE 1 and CORE 2 modules completed. At least 3 years of experience in an accounting position, preferably in a BC local government environment. An equivalent combination of knowledge, qualification and experience may be considered. Strong working knowledge and experience using financial and accounting software. Sound knowledge of Public Sector Accounting Board (PSAB) standards and related accounting principles and standards. Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail. Proficient in Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel skills.
