Trane Technologies is hiring an Application Specialist in Markham, ON to support our Commercial HVAC Equipment team. In this role, you will assist Project Managers with the technical validation of sold scope and the submittal process. Where Is The Work On-Site (4 days) From Monday to Thursday, work onsite with colleagues. On Fridays, choose your work location, balancing what your work requires. Prioritize engaging with customers. When not directly interacting with customers, collaborate with colleagues in your office. This is a virtual position. Responsibilities Responsible for the optimization/validation of the equipment, including selection of size, configuration, voltage, options, etc., by reviewing the plans, specifications, original estimate and proposal. Responsible for evaluating possible cost savings and/or cost problems on various projects. Validates project scope by reviewing transition documents, plans and specs; listing possible cost savings and problems; planning EQ/VPP dollar breaks; and validating quantities and configurations. Supports sales and develops preliminary submittals and/or final submittals as required, as well as conducting and recording job cost consensus meetings and submittal releases with any necessary changes. Maintains competitive advantage and stays abreast of industry trends, and optimizes expenses by negotiating prices with vendors for materials. Responsible for preparing the correct equipment for order entry, verifying equipment pricing and revising coordination worksheets, and reconciling job costs. Provides technical support after an order is closed for equipment installation processes and functions required for execution and customer satisfaction, including new equipment, start-up and warranty service, and controls equipment. Qualifications Associate or Bachelors degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Construction or Engineering Technology, OR other related areas with minimum two (2) years of experience in the HVAC industry performing project management or estimating roles; or equivalent combination of education and work experience; or minimum of five (5) years of experience in the HVAC industry performing project management or estimating roles; or equivalent combination of education and work experience. Familiarity with HVAC Systems and/or Temperature Controls preferred. Flexibility to work outside normal work hours, as required. Must possess a valid drivers license for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations (e.g., DUI, license suspensions, or other specified infractions in the previous 3 years). Compensation Base Pay Range: (TAP to update) For Salaried positions - $66,500 - $130,000 Disclaimer: We strive to provide competitive compensation for this position, tailored to a variety of factors.
