Job Information Job Title: Grants Analyst Job Requisition ID: 80568 Ministry: Public Safety and Emergency Services Location: Edmonton Full or Part-Time: Full Time Hours of Work: 36.25 hours per week Permanent/Temporary: Ongoing Scope: Open Competition Closing Date: March 30, 2026 Classification: Program Services 2 Salary: $2,487.97 to $3,263.63 bi-weekly ($64,936 - $85,181/year) The Alberta Emergency Management Agency (AEMA), under the authority of the Emergency Management Act, leads the coordination and co-operation of all organizations involved in emergencies and disasters. This includes emergency and disaster prevention, preparedness, response, and recovery. The Alberta Emergency Management Agency (AEMA) is accountable and responsible to the GoA, to Albertans, to their communities, and to industry for the protection of people, their property, and the environment from the effects of emergency events. Alberta relies on a decentralized system for managing the various types of emergency events that occur every year. The AEMA accomplishes its objectives by leading the co-ordination, collaboration and co-operation between all entities involved in prevention, preparedness, response, and recovery activities within this diverse system. Key Responsibilities Engage directly with grant stakeholders to support inquiries, approvals, and overall program understanding Gather and document requirements to support the development of grant agreements and related materials Collaborate with Legal Services to review, refine, and finalize grant documentation Draft and prepare grant agreements, amendments, and supporting documents Coordinate the approval process and ensure timely execution of agreements Conduct compliance reviews and ensure all documentation meets program and policy standards Prepare, organize, and close grant files in accordance with established procedures Develop stakeholder facing materials as well as Ministerial and Executive briefing materials Please click on this LINK to view the job description for this position Competencies Systems Thinking: Observes and understands larger impact of role. This link will assist you with understanding competencies: https://www.alberta.ca/system/files/custom_downloaded_images/psc-alberta-public-service-competency-model.pdf Required Required: University degree in a related field; no experience required; or equivalent as described below Equivalency Equivalency: Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of 1 year of education for 1 year of experience, or 1 year of experience for 1 year of education For Example: Related 1 year certificate PLUS a minimum 3 years of experience Related 2-year diploma PLUS a minimum 2 years of experience Related minimum 4 years of experience The successful candidate MUST also have: Experience supporting grant administration, funding programs, or similar structured processes Strong ability to work independently and as part of a team with minimal oversight Demonstrated experience preparing formal documents, agreements, or structured work products Ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and stakeholder inquiries simultaneously Strong communication and relationship building skills with internal and external stakeholders High attention to detail and accuracy in documentation, compliance, and file management Ability to collaborate with cross functional teams Proficiency with Microsoft Office/M365 and ability to learn new systems quickly Valid Class 5 Drivers license (or equivalent) and a clear driver abstract Assets : Experience drafting grant agreements, amendments, or other legal/contractual documents Previous work in a government, public sector, or regulatory environment Experience preparing briefing materials for senior leadership or executives Knowledge of grant lifecycle processes, compliance requirements, or funding frameworks Experience coordinating approval processes or working within structured governance models Familiarity with stakeholder engagement, program delivery, or client service environments MS Teams based stakeholder experience management Minimum recruitment standards outline the minimum education and experience required for appointment to a job classification.
