Job Description

Overview Pembina Pipeline Corporations Wapiti facility is recruiting for two Gas Plant Operators to join our Operations team, reporting to the Day Foreman, Operations within the Gas Services Business Unit. The Gas Services Business Unit provides fee-for-service gas and liquids processing across the WCSB and Williston Basin. As the largest third-party gas processor in the WCSB, GBU is positioned at the front of Pembinas value chain, enabling integrated solutions from wellhead to market. As a Gas Plant Operator, you will contribute to Pembinas success by demonstrating technical excellence, learning agility, and a strong commitment to our values. The Wapiti facility is not camp based and operates on a 28 day rotating schedule consisting of 12 hour day and night shifts. Responsibilities Safely start up, operate, monitor, and shut down individual unit operations and the gas plant, ensuring reliable and efficient performance; Demonstrate Pembinas Zero by Choice safety culture by caring for yourself and others, following Life Saving Rules, and proactively identifying and addressing hazards; Review, understand, and fully utilize Pembinas safety, environmental, and operational procedures and standards in all aspects of work; Ensure all required safety documentation is completed accurately and on time, including Safe Work Permits and Field Level Task Assessments, to protect people, assets, and the environment; Clearly and accurately document facility operations through logbooks, daily production reports, and reliability reporting to support transparency and trust across teams; Continuously adapt to emerging technologies and evolving operational requirements by actively acquiring new technical skills, applying innovative solutions, and integrating feedback into daily problem-solving; Lead and participate in commissioning and start-up activities, collaborating respectfully with peers, leaders, contractors, and service providers; Work closely with Pembina management, engineering firms, and equipment vendors to develop and improve procedures that enable safe, compliant, and reliable plant operations; Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve process upsets in a timely and effective manner, escalating issues as required; Coordinate maintenance activities by calling out equipment repairs, clearly communicating priorities, and supporting efficient execution; Identify opportunities for cost savings and continuous improvement, sharing ideas in a constructive and entrepreneurial manner; Complete incident reporting thoroughly and participate in investigations to support organizational learning; Maintain required safety tickets and coordinate ongoing training to support compliance and professional development; and Actively participate in and support an equitable, diverse, and inclusive workplace, where respect, collaboration, and trust are demonstrated every day. Qualifications Related and relevant experience in gas plant or field operations; Post-secondary education related to the oil and gas industry is considered an asset; Preference will be given to candidates with 4th Class Power Engineering certification; Experience with gas compression, refrigeration, and fractionation equipment; sour gas plant experience is a strong asset; Solid understanding of gas plant operations and established procedures; Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills; Demonstrated learning agility, with the ability to rapidly acquire and apply new technical skills, tools, and frameworks in response to evolving project requirements and emerging technologies; Ongoing dedication to training, development, and technical excellence; Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and respectfully with diverse teams; Ability to multitask, remain adaptable, and maintain a flexible, positive approach in a dynamic operating environment; Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications; Live within 100km of the Wapiti facility and have a valid driver''s license. The successful candidate must be legally able to work in the country of the position.
