To learn more about the governments work on these initiatives, visit: or . The Opportunity: As an RN in a job share role, the total hours worked shall equal one full-time position. The employee would be classified as regular part-time and expected to cover short-term sick leaves and vacation. An Emergency Department RN participates as a team member in the assessment, treatment, and provision of care and health promotion for all patients through supportive, therapeutic, palliative and rehabilitative means while adhering to the standards mandated by the College of Nurses of Ontario. Qualifications: Current certificate of registration as a Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario Minimum of one-year recent experience in acute care nursing Current emergency nursing experience preferred Completion of applicable critical care/emergency courses or working towards preferred Completion of Coronary Care I and II or equivalent Current ACLS Certification Completion of Physical Assessment course CTAS training preferred PALS training preferred TNCC training preferred Must strive to continuously provide a safe and supportive environment for patients, staff, physicians, and volunteers Must adhere to the duties of workers, as stipulated in the Occupational Health and Safety Act Must have an ability to effectively communicate (written and verbal) in the English language in order to provide excellent communication with team members, patients and families. Ability to communicate in additional language(s) is considered an asset.
