Working alongside multidisciplinary Transit & Rail specialists, you will help deliver solutions that improve safety, efficiency, and sustainability across Canadas transportation network. Your Impact - Design and develop track layout plans, alignments, and associated rail elements for commuter, heavy rail, and lightrail systems, in accordance with AREMA, CN, CPKC, Metrolinx track standards and Transport Canada requirements. - Apply geometric design principles to produce accurate horizontal and vertical alignments. - Collaborate with civil, structural, electrical, and systems engineering teams to ensure seamless design integration. - Support the preparation of technical reports, drawings, and design documentation. - Conduct design checks, CAD reviews, and quality verifications. - Assist with field investigations, site measurements, and data collection as needed. - Contribute to the continuous improvement of design standards, templates, and processes. - Support the delivery of rail infrastructure projects from concept to detailed design. The Skills That Set You Apart - Preferably 3 to 5 years experience in railway track engineering. - Technical understanding of track alignment and track form design for standard trackwork, special trackwork, ballasted and non-ballasted track and associated grading and drainage. - Experience with grading, drainage, and track alignment design for mainlines, sidings, industrial yards and spur tracks, intermodal and transload facilities, subway, commuter and light rail transit. - Familiarity with AREMA, Class 1 Railroad and Light Rail Transit design requirements. - Ability to complete conceptual plans, preliminary & detailed designs. - Preferred Software experience: AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Word, Excel, PowerPoint. - Bachelors degree from an accredited university engineering program, or equivalent. - P.Eng. eligible in the province of Ontario. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary project teams.
