Position Details Position: Casual Security Guard Site: North York General Hospital Hours: Casual Payrate: $20.43/hour Overtime: Averaging Agreement (AA) after 88 hours Posting Date: March 12, 2026 Internal Closing Date: March 26, 2026 External Closing Date: March 26, 2026 Key Responsibilities Conduct regular rounds of hospital premises, including parking areas, hallways, entrances, etc., to ensure safety and security. Operate security cameras and alarm systems, reporting any suspicious activity immediately to the appropriate authorities. Monitor and control entry points, ensuring only authorized individuals access restricted areas. Act quickly in emergency situationsmedical emergencies, fire alarms, or security threatsand assist hospital staff during crises and evacuations. Greet and assist visitors, patients, and staff, providing directions and ensuring compliance with hospital policies. Deescalate tense situations, resolve conflicts, and maintain calm, professional interactions. Document daily activities, incidents, and accidents accurately, completing incident reports. Work closely with hospital staff and local law enforcement to coordinate security efforts. Ensure hospital policies, including visitor and patient protocols, are followed and address violations in line with safety standards. Prerequisites Valid Security License for the province of Ontario. Valid First Aid & CPR Level C (WSIBapproved). COVID19 vaccine, two doses. Immunization records for Mumps, Measles, Rubella, Varicella and a twostep TB skin test. Valid Gclass Driver Licence. Fluency in English (oral and written). Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field (preferred). Certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behaviour (MOAB). Applicants lacking these may complete Paladins UOF/MOAB training prior to onboarding, with costs covered for a 6month commitment. Authorized to work legally in Canada.
