Description Shared Health (1502-155 Carlton Street, Winnipeg MB, R3C 5R9) and The University of Manitoba, Department of Surgery are inviting applications for a Urologist to fill a labour shortage. The position will commence on September 1, 2024 (or a later date mutually agreed upon). Main job duties include diagnosing and treating diseases, prescribing medications, ordering lab tests and xrays, and other diagnostic procedures. Consultation with other physicians is required and represents 75% of the position. The successful candidate will also be eligible for appointment as an Assistant Professor and will serve as a geographical fulltime member of the Max Rady College of Medicine, Rady Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Manitoba. This role accounts for the remaining 25% of duties, all of which must be performed in English. The role encompasses inpatient and ambulatory patient care responsibilities and requires clinical and teaching skills to advance undergraduate and postgraduate education, research, and tertiary care medicine. The candidate will conduct independent research and supervise postgraduate trainees conducting research. The primary site is the Health Sciences Centre, with secondary responsibilities at other regional sites. Qualifications Doctor of Medicine Degree with a specialization in Urology. Eligibility for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba. Fellowship training in endourology and minimally invasive surgery. Clinical research experience is expected. Additional postgraduate training in education or research is an asset. Additional advanced degrees or skills that support education, research, or other academic pursuits are beneficial. Compensation Compensation is derived from feeforservice income.
