Key Skills Experience working in a Data Analyst or Business Analyst role within risk or capital markets environments. Strong hands on familiarity with trading products and platforms, specifically capital market financial products (e.g., derivatives, swaps, TRS). Deep understanding of financial terms and CCR related metrics such as Present Value (PV), Potential Future Exposure (PFE) and Settlement Risk. Experience defining data requirements for downstream consumption across trading systems. Hands on experience reviewing code, documentation, and data logic to support data profiling and validation activities. Working knowledge of Python, with the ability to read and understand existing code to interpret data logic (no greenfield development). Experience using tools such as VSCode, GitHub, Copilot, and query analyzers. Soft Skills Strong stakeholder engagement skills, including requirements walkthroughs, clear communication, and formal sign off. Ability to work independently and contribute quickly with limited formal training or onboarding. Curiosity. Strong oral and written communication skills. Nice to Have Skills & Experience Prior experience within BMO Capital Markets. Experience supporting CCR, market risk, or regulatory driven initiatives. Exposure to liquidity and funding teams, including intraday liquidity use cases. Strong analytics background with experience supporting trading transformation initiatives. Job Description Insight Global is seeking a Senior Data / Business Analyst to support a risk focused data initiative within Counterparty Credit Risk for a top bank downtown Toronto. This role will sit within an established team supporting the Counterparty Credit Risk (CCR) Adaptiv platform Replacement project, with a strong focus on defining data requirements, validating data quality, and creating standardized data contracts for downstream consumption across trading platforms and products. This is a hands on data and analysis role that requires prior exposure to financial trading products and data, strong stakeholder engagement skills, and the ability to contribute quickly with minimal ramp up. Day-to-Day Responsibilities Gather, analyze, and document data requirements for downstream systems across multiple trading platforms and products. Support data profiling activities by reviewing existing documentation, code, and source data. Review Python code and queries to understand data logic and identify gaps or inconsistencies. Validate data elements, including definitions, valid values, and completeness. Create, maintain, and own Unified Data Models (UDMs) and JSON based data contracts for downstream systems (no traditional data modeling tools). Identify data gaps and partner with stakeholders to resolve issues and obtain formal sign off. Work closely with risk, trading, liquidity, and technology teams to ensure data alignment. Contribute to ongoing data standardization efforts across market risk products and trading systems.
