Position We are seeking an energetic new SPLICEr to join the team as our Junior Front-End Developer . Location This role is an in-office role within SPLICE''''s Calgary corporate office. We are a people-first company and can be flexible with how your hours are structured, but we picture seeing your smiling face in office every day (except Fridays which are frequently work from home, at the discretion of your manager). Who you are You are a Junior Front-End Developer who is passionate about building intuitive and responsive user interfaces. This role is ideal for someone early in their career who wants to gain handson experience building modern web applications alongside an experienced engineering team. You will collaborate with a team of passionate developers to deliver features across our suite of applications. In this role, you will Develop and maintain user interfaces for web applications Implement responsive designs and interactive features Work closely with all teams to translate requests and priorities into designs and code Collaborate with backend engineers to integrate APIs Debug, test, and optimize front-end performance Participate in code reviews and team discussions Learn and adopt modern front-end development practices Create and maintain system and usage documentation Adopt modern AI usage to support productivity Requirements Required Qualifications Bachelor''''s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or graduating soon) Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript Familiarity with modern front-end frameworks such as React, Vue, or Angular Basic understanding of Git/version control Knowledge of responsive design principles Strong problem-solving and communication skills Nice to Have Experience with TypeScript Familiarity with REST APIs Experience with issue tracking tools (Jira, Linear, etc.) Personal projects or GitHub portfolio Internship or coop experience in software development Expectations of All SPLICE Employees Participating in new business development as required Participating in new product development Assist in the evaluation of the effectiveness of internal and external communication and workflow procedures Provide internal technical support as required Participate in the development of new project proposalsRepresent the company at various business meetings to promote the company Promote positive relations with partners, vendors, distributors, and shareholders Recommend and administer policies and procedures to enhance operations Participate in establishing and implementing shortand longrange department goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures Share longterm vision for the company Positive attitude and teamwork Participate in the continued development of the company and its culture (make your mark) Commitment to SPLICE Core Values: We Believe It Can Be Better, Accountability, Committed to the Company''''s Success, Eager to Learn, Team Player.
