Why is this role important? We are seeking a Staff Machine Learning Engineer to join our team, focusing on the design, development, deployment and testing of advanced AI systems and sophisticated search agents. This role involves leveraging ML and cuttingedge Agentic AI for building robust, enterprisescale AI applications in the Retail and ecommerce vertical. You will be working on system designs and guiding developers crossfunctionally besides the handson development work. What Youll Do: Architect and build Agentic AI systems utilizing state of the art technologies and agentic patterns, like ReAct, MultiAgent, Hierarchical MultiAgent, to solve business problems. Own the tech stack and maintain the agentic ecosystem utilizing highly scalable, robust, and efficient cloud infrastructure using LangGraph and GCP services. Develop high-performance enterprise-level Machine Learning models and AI agents using Python code within a microservices architecture, ensuring solutions are scalable, reliable, and maintainable. Champion and lead best practices for MLE, MLOps and LLMOps cross functionally, including QA practices and full endtoend test automation. Collaborate, document and work closely with product team, senior leadership and other staff engineers at Loblaw Digital to drive Agentic AI solutions, source data/APIs, establish requirements, and define success metrics. Take ownership and drive of full endtoend AI systems, mentor other machine learning developers, and contribute to raising the technical bar within the entire team. Does This Sound Like You? Qualifications: Bachelors degree or equivalent in Computer Science or a related field alongside a strong foundation in AI and Agentic systems, with more than 5 years of handson experience building scalable AI products. Software engineering proficiency in Python with AI Design Patterns, and 2+ years experience designing and supporting enterprise applications within a microservices architecture. Proven experience running and supporting ML workloads on the cloud (preferably GCP) with containerization and workflow orchestration in dev and production environments. Proven experience in LangChain ecosystem or other Agentic frameworks, NLP, LLMs, ReAct, Multi-Agent, MCP, A2A, RAGs and embedding models. Committed to code quality at every stage of the ML lifecycle, with experience designing and upholding CI/CD and endtoend integration testing pipeline.
