About The Role Were looking for a Manager, Financial Reporting to join our team for a role to work remotely based in Canada. Reporting to the Director, Financial Accounting & Reporting , youre going to be a part of a team that is transforming our finance function into a ''''bank-grade'''' operation. This is a pivotal role where you will not only lead the monthly financial reporting process but also define the technical accounting standards and regulatory reporting framework for our future bank entity. You will be the technical anchor for the team, elevating our reporting quality to meet the rigorous demands of OSFI and external auditors. What Youll Be Doing Financial reporting: Leading the production of accurate, timely, and compliant monthly consolidated financial statements and regulatory returns, ensuring audit scrutiny Technical lead: Researching and documenting complex accounting positions under IFRS (including IFRS 9 and new product launches), ensuring we have a defensible and documented approach for every major decision. People management: Managing a team of Senior Accountants responsible for month end close, deep technical work and operational accounting (including accounts payable, vendor payments, invoicing). Internal controls and compliance Partnering with the Director to build and test a robust internal controls framework, moving us to a mature and controlled environment. Responsible for tax compliance. AI and automation: Actively exploring and implementing AI tools to automate routine reporting and research tasks, driving a culture of continuous technological improvement within the team. Bank transition work : Assisting with the overall transition to a schedule 1 Bank, by delivering on financial reporting requirements, designing and implementing robust internal controls and establishing regulatory reporting processes for a regulated financial institution, Who You Are Designated & Experienced: You hold a CPA designation with 5-7+ years of progressive experience, ideally with a mix of Big 4 audit and industry reporting (fintech or banking experience is a major asset). Technical Heavyweight: You have deep, hands-on expertise with IFRS (especially financial instruments) and are comfortable writing technical memos that can stand up to external audit partner review. Tax Savvy: You have functional experience with Canadian corporate and indirect tax compliance, confident in reviewing tax provisions and coordinating with external tax specialists. AI Curious & Capable: You have some handson experience with AI tools (LLMs, automation) to streamline workflows, but more importantly, you possess a strong interest in leveraging AI to modernize the finance function. People Leader: You have proven experience managing or supervising accountants, with a passion for reviewing work, providing feedback, and elevating the technical skills of your direct reports. Process Architect: You don''''t just follow a checklist; you look for ways to optimize the monthend close, improve data quality from source systems, and implement controls that make the audit smoother every year. The budgeted salary range for this role is $110,000 - $135,000 CAD / year. At KOHO, we are dedicated to providing pay transparency to all candidates. Relevant du/de la Directeur(trice), Comptabilit et information financires , vous ferez partie d''''une quipe qui transforme notre fonction finance en une opration de calibre bancaire . Il s''''agit d''''un rle cl o vous dirigerez non seulement le processus mensuel d''''information financire, mais dfinirez galement les normes de comptabilit technique et le cadre de rapports rglementaires pour notre future entit bancaire. Vous serez le pilier technique de l''''quipe, levant la qualit de nos rapports pour rpondre aux exigences rigoureuses du BSIF et des auditeurs externes. Ce que vous ferez Information financire : Diriger la production d''''tats financiers consolids mensuels et de dclarations rglementaires exacts, dans les dlais et conformes, en veillant ce qu''''ils rsistent l''''examen des auditeurs. Leadership technique : Effectuer des recherches et documenter les positions comptables complexes selon les IFRS (y compris IFRS 9 et les lancements de nouveaux produits), en veillant ce que nous disposions d''''une approche dfendable et documente pour chaque dcision majeure. Gestion du personnel : Grer une quipe de comptables sniors responsables de la clture de fin de mois, des travaux techniques approfondis et de la comptabilit oprationnelle (y compris les comptes fournisseurs, les paiements aux fournisseurs et la facturation). Contrles internes et conformit : Collaborer avec le/la Directeur(trice) pour laborer et tester un cadre de contrles internes robuste, nous faisant voluer vers un environnement mature et contrl. Responsable de la conformit fiscale. IA et automatisation : Explorer et mettre en uvre activement des outils d''''IA pour automatiser les tches courantes de rapports et de recherche, favorisant une culture d''''amlioration technologique continue au sein de l''''quipe. Travaux de transition bancaire : Participer la transition globale vers une banque de l''''annexe I en rpondant aux exigences d''''information financire, en concevant et en mettant en uvre des contrles internes robustes et en tablissant des processus de rapports rglementaires pour une institution financire rglemente. Votre profil Professionnel(le) agr(e) et expriment(e) : Vous dtenez le titre de CPA avec 5 7 ans et plus d''''exprience progressive, idalement avec une combinaison d''''audit en cabinet des Big Four et d''''exprience en information financire en entreprise (une exprience en fintech ou dans le secteur bancaire est un atout majeur). Expert(e) technique de haut niveau : Vous possdez une expertise approfondie et pratique des IFRS (particulirement les instruments financiers) et tes l''''aise pour rdiger des notes techniques pouvant rsister l''''examen d''''un associ d''''audit externe. Comptences en fiscalit : Vous possdez une exprience fonctionnelle en conformit fiscale canadienne (impts des socits et taxes indirectes), l''''aise pour rviser les provisions fiscales et coordonner avec les spcialistes fiscaux externes. Curiosit et comptences en IA : Vous avez une certaine exprience pratique avec les outils d''''IA (grands modles de langage, automatisation) pour optimiser les flux de travail, mais surtout, vous possdez un vif intrt pour l''''utilisation de l''''IA afin de moderniser la fonction finance. Leadership d''''quipe : Vous avez une exprience avre en gestion ou supervision de comptables, avec une passion pour la rvision du travail, la rtroaction et le perfectionnement des comptences techniques de vos subordonns directs.
