The Opportunity: Portfolio Controller Fluent Software Group is looking for a high-performing, handson Portfolio Controller to join our finance team. Reporting to the Portfolio Head of Finance, you will oversee financial performance across a portfolio of acquired software businesses. Youll act as both strategic partner and operational leader driving reporting excellence, strengthening controls, leading integrations, and building scalable finance functions in a decentralized environment. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in acquisitiondriven environments and wants direct exposure to M&A, performance improvement, and international operations. What Youll Own Portfolio Financial Performance Lead budgeting, forecasting, and longrange planning across portfolio companies Monitor KPIs and financial performance, identifying risks and opportunities Deliver monthly and quarterly business reviews with actionable insights Drive cash flow optimization and profitability improvement initiatives Partner with operational leaders to execute performance enhancement strategies Financial Reporting & Compliance Own the monthly close process across portfolio entities Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting Maintain compliance with corporate policies and local statutory requirements Strengthen internal controls while maintaining operational agility Lead statutory audits and support corporate audit processes M&A & Integration Lead financial onboarding and integration of newly acquired businesses Execute ERP implementations, account mapping, and reporting alignment Prepare purchase price allocations and opening balance sheet accounting Identify and remediate accounting policy discrepancies Build first bottomup forecasts with acquired leadership teams Roll out Fluent and Valsoft KPI frameworks and finance best practices Systems & Process Optimization Support and drive NetSuite rollout initiatives Identify automation opportunities and improve financial systems Enhance reporting processes for scalability and efficiency Team Leadership Develop and mentor decentralized finance teams (Accounting, FP&A, AR, AP) Set clear performance expectations and drive accountability Foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement Who You Are Qualifications CPA designation required Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field 5+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience 1-2+ years of experience managing teams Strong experience in multientity financial reporting and internal controls Advanced Excel skills Fluent in English (written and verbal) Nice-to-Haves Experience in M&A or postacquisition integrations Experience in vertical software or decentralized operating environments Working knowledge of NetSuite or similar ERP systems Experience supporting international entities Why Fluent?
