Job Description

* Oversee the planning and execution of daily camp schedules, including: + Bible and faith-based programming + Recreation and sports activities + Electives and skill-based programs + Free time and cabin activities + Evening and special programs* Ensure programs are age-appropriate, engaging, inclusive, and well-structured.* Support staff in adapting programs as needed based on weather, camper needs, or operational requirements.* Support the training, coaching, and evaluation of program staff.* Promote positive staff morale, teamwork, and clear communication.* Address program-related staff concerns, performance issues, and conflicts in a timely and professional manner.* Support various administrative duties which include documentation, tracking statistics and assisting other program staff/volunteers as needed.* Maintain confidentiality and keeps accurate files and statistical records.* This is a temporary, full-time position at 40 hours per week for 16 weeks; May 11 to August 28, 2026.* On call 24/7 to look after problems seen and unforeseen as they arise. This position requires long hours of both indoor and outdoor activity.* Residential camp setting* Physically active role requiring time outdoors and participation in programs* Shared responsibility in leadership coverage and on-call duties* Willingness to develop an understanding and support for the mission and purpose of The Salvation Army in Canada and its implications as related to position responsibilities.* Work in compliance with OH&S Act and Regulations and abide by The Salvation Armys health and safety policies and procedures.* Alternative combination of education and experience may be considered.* Three (3) years of prior related experience. Demonstrated experience in camp programming, youth ministry, education, or recreation leadership including computer skills.* Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred.* Ability to serve as a trusted adult and role model for campers and staff.* Working knowledge of computers including Microsoft office and internet.* Clearance through internal Salvation Army child & youth abuse prevention protocols.* Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.* Commitment to The Salvation Armys mission and values.* Supervisory/management skills and the ability to lead, coach and motivate.* Self-motivated and able to work independently with limited direct supervision.* Knowledge of online booking systems (Camp Brain or similar) would be an asset. Software training will be provided as needed.* Ability to work independently and participate as an active and responsible team member in a cooperative team environment.* Represent TSA in a positive, professional and engaging manner.* Ability to anticipate and identify issues and problem solve.* Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to complete assignments and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.* Attention to detail, problem solving and analytical skills.* Lead by example, by demonstrating a positive attitude, a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn and be flexible in the face of change.* Exhibit good listening skills, have strong oral/written communication skills and respect authority.* Ability to work effectively with clients and staff in a culturally diverse environment.* Strong sense of integrity and confidentiality with professional ethics and a balanced sense of fairness and flexibility.* Working knowledge of MS Office 365.Our employees are motivated by the fulfillment and meaning they experience as they serve people in need across Canada and Bermuda.
