Clearview Public Schools Requires a Transportation Safety and Compliance Lead Clearview Public Schools invites applications for a 1.0 FTE Transportation Safety and Compliance Lead based out of the Stettler Bus Shop in Stettler, Alberta. Transportation Services is responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of approximately 1,500 students across the division. The Transportation Lead plays a key leadership role in ensuring legislative compliance, operational safety, driver competency, and the continuous improvement of transportation services. This position reports directly to the Director of Transportation Services and works collaboratively with trainers, bus drivers, heavy duty technicians, school administrators and other division staff to promote a strong culture of safety and accountability. The successful applicant will: Manage and support School Bus Drivers competency on road. Responsible for compliance with National Safety Code standards, Alberta Transportation regulations, AMVIR and Alberta Education requirements, including managing the Division Carrier Profile, conducting audits, and maintaining audit-ready safety and maintenance records in collaboration with the Director of Transportation Services. Lead the Division Driver Training School, deliver Class 2S, S-Endorsement, refresher and safety training, conduct driver evaluations and post-incident reviews, and maintain accurate training and competency records while promoting consistent professional and safety expectations. Assist with collision investigations and transportation-related incidents including fly-bys, student behaviour, document findings, recommend corrective actions, and monitor compliance with inspections, hours of service, maintenance records, and CVIP requirements. Conduct safety assessments of bus stops, routes, loading zones, and yard operations, identifying hazards and recommending risk-reduction strategies. Foster a positive safety culture through clear communication, safety education for students and staff, and leadership of safety meetings and continuous improvement initiatives. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to create Transportation Safety Awareness Campaigns. Qualifications for this position include: Demonstrated knowledge of National Safety Code standards and Alberta transportation legislation Experience in school bus operations, fleet compliance, or transportation safety management Strong investigative, analytical, and documentation skills Well-developed interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills Ability to provide effective coaching, training, and performance feedback Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Suite products Valid Class 1, 2 or 2S clean operators licence (or willingness to obtain S-Endorsement) InVehicle Class 2and School Bus Driver Improvement Program Instructor Certificate (or willingness to obtain) The Transportation Safety and Compliance Lead position offers a starting salary of $80,000 per year.
