Role and Facility Information The role is located at the Penticton Regional Hospital (PRH), a 158bed Acute Care facility in the Okanagan Health Service Area that serves approximately 90,000 people. PRH offers 24hour Emergency and Trauma Services, Acute Services, Ambulatory and Outpatient Clinics, and Diagnostic/Paramedical Services. As a regional facility and secondary referral centre for the South Okanagan and Similkameen Valley, you will join an excellent complement of medical and surgical specialists. PRHs radiology services include onsite Computed Tomography (CT) and parttime Medical Resonance Imaging (MRI). The hospital also houses a sevenbed Intensive Care Unit (ICU). PRH serves as the referral base for hematology/transfusion medicine for smaller local hospitals in Oliver and Princeton. In April 2019 PRH opened phase one of the DavidE.Kampe Tower (DKT), a stateoftheart Patient Care Tower that includes a new ambulatory care centre, surgical services centre, 84 medical/surgical inpatient beds in single patient rooms, a new medical device reprocessing unit and space for the UBC Faculty of Medicine program. Phase two is scheduled for completion in December2021 and will expand the emergency department fourfold. You will be part of our dedicated team of six psychiatrists providing comprehensive, quality clientcentered care to individuals and their families. The 16bed Inpatient Psychiatric Unit (IPU) offers acute mental health and substance use services in a safe, secure and accessible facility for the South Okanagan region. Our wellestablished integrated adult mental health programs include: Short Term Counseling Community Case Management Vocational Rehabilitation Physical Activation Anxiety and Depression DBT Groups Seniors Mental Health Rural Outreach Additionally, our community child and youth mental health program features: individual counselling, group counselling, DBT programme and integrated psychiatric services. In this position you have the opportunity to teach medical students and participate in quality improvement and program development activities. The current call requirement is approximately 15 to 6 days with rotating weekends and is remunerated at MOCAP Level2. In addition to child and youth psychiatry, this position may also be involved with general psychiatry. Compensation Compensation Type: Combination Estimated Remuneration: $250,000 $400,000 Physician Overhead: No overhead cost Benefits and Incentives Relocation Funding Available: $9,000 $15,000 Relocation Assistance is applicable for 1.0FTE positions and is based on move location (eligible receipts required).
