Compensation and Benefits Competitive salary Medical/Dental/Vision benefits RRSP/DPSP Flexible work schedule Generous paid time off Employee referral program Free parking Hybrid Work Essential Functions Payroll & Timekeeping Prepare and process biweekly payroll for both Canada and the US Administer and maintain ADP Time & Labor Management (TLM) for US and Canadian employees Configure and maintain pay rules, overtime rules, premiums, and statutory requirements within ADP TLM by jurisdiction Ensure all salaries are paid accurately and in a timely manner Prepare journal entries, records of employment, T4s, W2s, remittances, etc. as required Prepare adhoc reports as required Handle all inquiries from employees and agencies regarding payroll & benefits Process all salary increases, bonuses, commissions, etc. in accordance with policy or instructions provided Maintain detailed records and documentation of payroll functions for audit purposes in accordance with statutory requirements Prepare remittances and requests for payment as required Benefit Administration Support all aspects of benefit administration, including working with benefits consultants, benefit carriers, and employee inquiries, as well as annual reporting and auditing Ensure new enrollments, terminations, or changes to employee benefits are updated timely in all required portals Quarterly and annual Workers Compensation Benefit (WCB) reporting Retirement Plan Administration Support US 401(k) and Canadian RRSP/DPSP plans, working with carriers, benefit consultants, auditors, etc. Maintain records for contributions made by employees and company match, and ensure funds are transferred to carriers as required Collaborate with HR to ensure accuracy of employee enrollment Provide information to new hires and ensure enrollment is timely Maintain accurate records regarding enrollments, terminations, etc. Assist employees with pension inquiries as required Support US nondiscrimination testing, 401k annual audit, and filing of forms 5500 and 8950 with the US IRS Miscellaneous Support HR for WCB annual and/or quarterly reporting for several Canadian provinces and all US employees Work with various jurisdictional workcomp boards, ensuring all employees are covered and reporting is completed in a timely manner Apply for state (US) withholding/SUI numbers as required for new employees Chair Health & Safety Committee, schedule quarterly meetings, prepare and post minutes Oversee building maintenance, working with property developer and service providers as needed Perform related duties as assigned Competencies Knowledge of Canadian and US payroll processing is essential Proficiency with ADP TotalSource and Workforce Now networks for both Canada and US is essential Strong knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel, is essential Experience with yearend processing activities (T4s, W2s, WCB, HET) would be beneficial Must handle confidential information with a high degree of ethics and professionalism Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy Ability and willingness to learn all aspects of HR, focusing initially on payroll and benefits Education and Experience Bachelor of Commerce Degree with an HR specialization Canadian Payroll Association Certification is an asset Physical Demands and Work Environment Noise level in the work environment is generally quiet Sedentary physical activity requiring reaching, sifting, lifting, finger dexterity, grasping, feeling, repetitive motions, talking and hearing Visual requirement is for close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus 50% or more time is spent looking directly at a computer Associate is frequently required to stand, walk, or otherwise be mobile Closing Date Applications will be accepted until January 5.
