Department Overview Pinchins Mechanical Engineering Department is a collaborative, futurefocused team delivering innovative mechanical, energy, and sustainability solutions across Western Canada and beyond. The department plays a central role in advancing renewablebased district energy systems, building mechanical design, and lowcarbon infrastructure projects that shape resilient communities. Your Impact Plan and design ambienttemperature district energy systems using heat pumps, geoexchange, and wastewater heat recovery. Produce HVAC and plumbing designs for projects across B.C. and Canada. Deliver lowcarbon electrification and wasteheat recovery solutions. Conduct energy audits, specialist reports, and GHG reduction studies. Provide HVAC/plumbing support to other internal Pinchin teams. Support new build and retrofit projects across residential, commercial, and institutional sectors. Perform feasibility studies plus design/review heat recovery and hydronic systems. Monitor system performance, prepare proposals/cost estimates, win public bids, and maintain strong client relationships. What Youll Bring To Pinchin This role is ideal for an experienced mechanical engineer who brings strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently while building trusted client relationships. Candidates who have sectorspecific experience, an entrepreneurial mindset, and the flexibility to travel or work remotely will thrive in this environment. Mechanical Engineering degree with P.Eng. (or equivalent expert experience); LEED/CEM an asset. 6+ years of consulting engineering experience and 5+ years of experience in residential design and energy modelling. Proven ability to build and grow client relationships. Experience with district energy, geoexchange, and/or chiller plant design. Strong HVAC retrofit and hydronic system design experience. Skilled in energy audits, efficiency evaluations, and energy modelling. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and a basic knowledge of AutoCAD, IES, load calculation software. Valid drivers license with ability to travel and work independently/remote. Played key roles in Education (K12/PostSecondary) and/or Healthcare sectors within the last 5 years with client references available upon request.
