The City of Abbotsfords Recreation & Culture division is looking for a dynamic, self-motivated professional with proven leadership, community development and programming skills to join their dynamic team as an auxiliary Recreation Programmer to support arts and culture programming. Responsibilities: In this exciting role you will work with a variety of City staff and external culture and community organizations to plan and create cultural programming opportunities in alignment with the Citys Culture Connect Strategy. You are a creative and critical thinker, with an understanding of the importance of collaboration, supporting Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in programming, and community engagement through arts and culture. An ability to develop and maintain productive relationships with non-profit community organizations, advisory boards, and other partner organizations is essential for success in this position. An understanding of culture service delivery in a municipal government setting is desired. Your excellent communication, organizational, administrative and critical thinking skills and abilities, combined with a strong commitment to customer service excellence will guide your success in this position. Qualifications: College Diploma in a related discipline with a minimum 2 years experience in culture or recreation program development including a minimum 6 months in area of assignment and 1 year of supervisory experience in a recreation environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
