Our founder, Dr. Peter Dobias, has spent over 30 years as a veterinarian and has built one of the most trusted voices in natural dog health through honest content, a deeply engaged community, and products made without compromise. We are not a corporate company. We are not chasing growth for growth's sake. We are a team of people who genuinely care about dogs, about health, about doing things the right way and we are looking for someone who feels that in their bones, not just on paper. The RoleWe are looking for a Director of Operations who will become the operational backbone of this company someone who takes genuine ownership of the systems, processes, and relationships that keep everything running, so that Peter can focus on the mission and the team can do their best work. This is not a strategic oversight role. This is a hands-on, deeply accountable position for someone who loves the detail, owns the numbers, and finds genuine satisfaction in building systems that work quietly and reliably in the background. You will own supply chain and inventory management, 3PL and vendor relationships, financial coordination, regulatory compliance, and team accountability rhythms. You will be the person who knows where every unit of inventory is, why every invoice is correct, and what needs to happen next before anyone else has to ask. What Your Days Actually Look Like Reconciling inventory across systems and making sure the numbers we make decisions on are numbers we can trust Managing supplier and 3PL relationships including the uncomfortable conversations when things are not working Overseeing the purchasing-to-payment cycle, reviewing invoices line by line, and keeping our accounting firm informed Tracking regulatory deadlines, certified organic documentation, Certificates of Analysis, and trademark renewals across the US, Canada, and internationally Building and maintaining the operational systems, dashboards, and processes that give the whole team visibility and confidence Supporting expansion into the EU and UK market from an operational and compliance standpoint Running weekly and quarterly accountability rhythms with the team[1]Who This Is ForYou are someone who genuinely loves dogs. Not as a professional talking point but as a real part of your life. You understand the grief of losing a dog too soon and the joy of watching one thrive. That connection to the mission is not optional it is the thread that runs through every decision we make. You live a healthy, active lifestyle. You care about what goes into your body and your dog's body. You spend time outdoors hiking, skiing, trail running, whatever it is and you bring that same energy and intention to your work. You are a genuine relationship builder. You are warm with people, direct without being cold, and you know that the best operational outcomes come from trust with suppliers, with teammates, and with the founder you work alongside. You do not hide behind data when a conversation needs to happen. .You communicate clearly and accessibly. You can translate a complex inventory problem into a clear sentence that a non-operational person can act on. You write well. You speak with warmth. You do not make people feel small for not knowing what you know. What You Have Done Personally owned supply chain and inventory reconciliation across multiple systems not supervised it, but owned it Directly managed 3PL or co-packer relationships including SLA negotiation and vendor accountability Built operational systems from scratch not just improved existing ones using tools like BigQuery, Shopify, inventory management software, and data dashboards Worked inside a small, founder-led company where you were genuinely close to the mission and the decisions Managed a purchasing-to-payment cycle including invoice review, discrepancy resolution, and accounting firm liaison Handled regulatory compliance in some form labeling, permits, certified documentation, or equivalentWho This Is NOT ForThis role is not for someone who has only worked in large corporate environments where operational functions are divided across departments and committees make decisions. It is not for someone who manages operations from above while a team does the actual reconciliation work.It is not for someone who needs a clear playbook on day one there are systems to build here, not just systems to maintain. What We Offer Full remote flexibility work from wherever you do your best work A founder who is genuinely committed to handing this function over and trusting the right person with it A small, warm, mission-aligned team who will welcome you as a real part of the family Products you will actually use and believe in The satisfaction of building something that matters not just running a processCompensation is commensurate with experience and will be discussed openly in our first conversation. To ApplySend us a cover letter not a template, but a real one that answers these three questions:1.
