We still make the trailers were known for, but we have expanded our product lineup to help meet the growing demand for energy in North America.THE ROLEThe Buyer is responsible for executing the procurement activities through sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials, components, and services required to support operational needs. This role ensures the timely delivery of quality goods at the best possible cost while managing supplier performance and maintaining accurate purchasing records.RESPONSIBILTIIESManages the full purchasing cycle from requisition to purchase order.Sources and evaluates suppliers to ensure cost, quality, and delivery performance.Negotiates pricing, terms, and supply agreements to optimize value.Maintains appropriate inventory levels based on usage and forecasts.Tracks and improves supplier performance, addressing issues proactively.Identifies costsaving opportunities through market analysis and alternative sourcing.Collaborates with Production, Planning, Engineering, and Quality on material requirements.Coordinates with Logistics and Warehouse teams for smooth material flow.Communicates supply risks, delays, or shortages to internal stakeholders.Ensures accurate ERP/MRP data for pricing, lead times, and supplier records.Monitor open orders, expedite or defer as required, and ensure timely receipt of materials.Adheres to ethical purchasing standards and compliance requirements.QUALIFICATIONSPostsecondary education in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.25 years of experience in purchasing, supply chain, or logistic functions.Understanding of procurement processes, inventory management, and supplier relations.Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Teams).Strong negotiation, communication, and relationshipbuilding skills.Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and drive decisions.High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fastpaced environment.Problemsolving skills with proactive followthrough.Knowledge of manufacturing or industrial environments is considered an asset.Familiarity with quality standards and compliance requirements.Demonstrated commitment to ethical purchasing practices.WORK ENVIRONMENT This position is primarily office-based but requires regular visits to the production floor.
