The Inventory Manager is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and continuous improvement of inventory processes within a high-volume warehouse environment. This role partners closely with operations leadership to investigate inventory discrepancies, maintain system accuracy, implement process improvements, and ensure compliance with operational procedures and customer requirements. RESPONSIBILITIES: Lead and manage the site-based Inventory Control team, including performance management, coaching, and resource planning. Monitor and report on inventory control KPIs related to inventory accuracy, transaction integrity, and operational performance. Analyze inventory data to identify discrepancies, trends, and root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent future issues. Maintain accurate inventory records both physically and within the warehouse management system (WMS). Ensure accurate setup and maintenance of inventory systems including item master data, warehouse locations, replenishment parameters, and system transactions. Plan, schedule, and execute cycle counts, near-zero counts, and full physical inventory counts in accordance with internal policies and customer requirements. Investigate inventory variances, perform inventory adjustments when necessary, and provide detailed root-cause analysis. Work closely with operations teams to optimize inventory flow, storage placement, and warehouse layout to improve efficiency and accuracy. Coordinate the implementation of new processes, procedures, and operational improvements related to inventory management. Manage damaged or defective product processes, ensuring accurate inventory adjustments and proper documentation. Conduct inbound and outbound audits to ensure inventory accuracy and identify operational errors or system issues. Communicate inventory discrepancies, root causes, and corrective actions to managers, supervisors, and customers when required. Track inventory control performance and provide regular reporting to leadership in alignment with customer service level agreements. Develop, implement, and maintain inventory control procedures and standard operating procedures (SOPs). Train and support operational teams on inventory processes, system usage, and inventory best practices. Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on inventory accuracy, operational efficiency, and service performance. REQUIREMENTS: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and implement operational improvements. Advanced Excel and data analysis capabilities. Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments. High attention to detail and commitment to maintaining operational accuracy and quality. Strong technical aptitude with warehouse management systems and inventory tracking tools. EXPERIENCE: Proven experience in an Inventory Management or Inventory Control leadership role. Experience working within a warehouse or third-party logistics (3PL) environment. Experience with warehouse technologies such as RFID, barcode scanning systems, or electronic data interchange (EDI) is considered an asset.
