The Opportunity Chisholm Industries is seeking an experienced Service Operations Manager to lead and scale our commercial mechanical service division. This is a leadership role responsible for building a high-performing service operation that supports technicians, delivers exceptional customer service, and drives the growth of our planned maintenance and service programs. This role is ideal for a strong operational leader who understands commercial HVAC and plumbing service, values team development, and takes pride in building efficient systems that support both technicians and customers. You will oversee service operations, including dispatch coordination, technician productivity, customer service performance, and operational processes. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the continued growth of Chisholms service division while maintaining our commitment to professionalism, safety, and long-term client relationships. What Youll Do Lead day-to-day operations of the service department including dispatch coordination and field operations Support and manage service technicians to ensure high productivity, quality workmanship, and strong customer service Monitor service department performance including utilization hours, response times, and service profitability Work closely with dispatch, technicians, and leadership to ensure work is scheduled and completed efficiently Develop operational processes that improve service delivery and technician efficiency Support the growth and delivery of preventive maintenance and planned service programs Assist with quoting service work and recommending corrective actions for customers Build strong relationships with customers and support resolution of escalated service issues Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and professionalism across the service team Collaborate with company leadership to support the continued growth of Chisholms service division What Youll Need to Succeed Minimum Qualifications 710+ years of experience in commercial mechanical service (HVAC, plumbing, or mechanical systems) 35+ years of leadership experience managing technicians or service teams Strong understanding of commercial mechanical systems including HVAC, hydronics, boilers, and plumbing systems Proven ability to lead teams and support technician development Strong organizational and operational problem-solving skills Demonstrated experience working with customers in commercial service environments Strong communication skills (written and verbal) Excellent organization and time management skills Proficiency with technology and service software (dispatch systems, Microsoft Office 365, etc.) Valid Class 5 Drivers License Strong Assets Related degree, ticket, or certification ( Journeyperson HVAC or Plumbing, M.E.T/C.E.T, engineering diploma) Experience managing commercial service operations Experience with planned maintenance programs and service agreements Experience with commercial ICI buildings Financial understanding of service department metrics and profitability Experience implementing service systems or operational improvements Leadership training or management development experience Familiarity withCalgarys commercial, institutional/healthcare, and industrial real estate markets This Role Is NOT a Fit If: Your background is lacking experience in supervision and management of teams You have not estimated/quoted mechanical service work You are seeking anentry-level role or junior position Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary + performance bonus Comprehensive benefits package Health Care Spending Account Life insurance Employer RRSP contributions Paid time off and company holidays Tuition reimbursement Company vehicle Safety-first work environment Supportive, team-oriented culture Why Join Chisholm?
