Manager, Architectural Project DesignToronto, ON | Hybrid| Full-Time THE OPPORTUNITYWe are seeking an experienced Manager, Architectural Project Design to lead and mentor a talented team of Senior Project Coordinators and Project Design Supervisors across two specialty divisions focused on custom ceiling and wall products. This is a pivotal leadership role at the intersection of technical excellence and team management responsible for scheduling, resource allocation, shop drawing oversight, and continuous process improvement in a fast-paced, project-driven environment. WHAT YOULL DO Team Leadership Management Lead, coach, and mentor a multidisciplinary design team of 89 direct reportsAssign and schedule projects based on team capacity, skills, and project prioritiesConduct performance reviews and support ongoing professional development Drive cross-training initiatives to maximize team flexibility and resilience Manage relationships with external freelancers, including invoicing and billing oversight Project Design Oversight Oversee the creation and validation of detailed shop drawings using AutoCADCollaborate with internal and external clients to address design and technical inquiries Provide regular project status reviews to Project Managers and Senior ManagementDevelop and implement CAD procedures and Standard Operating Procedures Support process improvement initiatives to improve quality, efficiency, and throughputTravelQuarterly travel to North American locations required (less than 10% of time) WHAT YOU BRING Education Experience - Bachelors degree in Architectural Design, Engineering, or equivalent (required)15+ years of industry experience in commercial construction or a related field 15+ years of leadership experience managing cross-functional design teamsTechnical SkillsAdvanced proficiency in AutoCAD (required) Knowledge of SolidWorks (asset)ERP systems experience (asset) Knowledge of custom ceiling design fiberglass, metal, and/or wood is a strong assetLeadership Soft SkillsProven ability to lead meetings, resolve conflicts, and foster a collaborative environmentExcellent communication, organizational, and mentoring skillsComfortable managing competing priorities across multiple projects and stakeholders COMPENSATION BENEFITS Base Salary$125,000 $140,000 per yearAnnual Bonus13% of base salary (company + individual performance) Work Mode lHybrid Travel Quarterly, Benefits Include Comprehensive health benefits: medical, dental, vision, and prescriptionParental leave and Employee Assistance ProgramRetirement savings plan, profit-sharing, TFSA, and employee stock purchase programTuition reimbursement for continuing educationEmployee recognition programs and wellness incentivesPet insurance optionsPerks and savings program with retail discounts and cashback offers
