Reporting to the Logistics Manager, you will manage all aspects of inbound, outbound, and reverse logistics, as well as occasionally supporting colleagues with coordinating the maintenance and safety of our nationwide fleet of trucks and vans. Based at our head office in Courtice, ON, and working 100% ON-SITE, our Logistics Team serves as a center of excellence, supporting cross-functional teams across 20 operating sites from coast to coast. If you are a logistics professional with initiative, energy, and a passion for continuous improvement, you could be a great fit at East Penn Canada, the countrys leading battery provider.You AreA logistics professional with initiative, energy, and a passion for continuous improvementExperienced in logistics management, ideally in the automotive industrySkilled in ERP systems (SAP preferred) and Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, Outlook)Strong in verbal and written communication, interpersonal, negotiation, and influencing skillsCapable of critical thinking, identifying trends, resolving issues, and proposing recommendationsOrganized and able to prioritize multiple tasks to meet deadlinesFlexible, adaptable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environmentProfessional with a strong customer-focused attitude, maintaining a positive and professional demeanor at all timesWhat You'll Be DoingLogistics CoordinationSchedule inbound freight, selecting appropriate carriers, producing BOLs, arranging pick-up and deliveryOutbound freight, selection of carriers and fleet vehicles, providing freight quotes for specific jobsIn transit tracking, providing PODs, and rapid support for transportation incidents and delaysReporting, Analysis and Master DataMaintain accurate records in our GPS, fleet management and fuel card systemsAnalyze carrier performance and fleet utilization, highlighting areas of concern and opportunityCost ManagementMonitor cost KPIs and identify cost saving opportunitiesExecute cost reduction projects in conjunction with team membersSafety & ComplianceMonitor daily truck inspection reports and take appropriate action depending on the severity of the reported faultEnsure all vehicles are properly maintained and safety certifiedEnsure all shipping documentation complies with all applicable transportation regulations, customs requirements and health & safety protocolsFleet Management (Occasional Support)On an occasional or as-needed basis:Organize and manage the fleet preventative maintenance program, including safety inspections and tire changes, to ensure operational safety and minimize the lifetime cost of the vehiclesRespond to breakdowns and unscheduled repairs, coordinating with drivers and Operations teams to promptly schedule recovery and repairManage business continuity, minimizing vehicle downtime and arranging rental vehicles when necessaryLiaise with repair shops to negotiate and approve repair estimatesWhat You BringPost-secondary education in business, logistics, or a related program, or equivalent experienceMinimum of 2 years' experience in a logistics or fleet management functionProficiency in ERP systems (SAP preferred) and familiarity with logistics technology (e.g., routing software, GPS applications, Fleet Maintenance software)Strong ability to organize and prioritize tasks effectivelyCritical thinking skills with the ability to identify trends, resolve issues, and propose recommendationsDemonstrated business acumen and a strong customer-focused attitudeAny amount of experience gained in automotive or related industrial settings is an assetBilingual in French is an assetOther ConsiderationsBackground checks, including criminal checks & employment references, will be requested for the successful candidate.Salary Range: $55,000 - $62,000 CAD expected total compensation.
