Job Overview The Health & Safety Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the well-being of our employees, protecting company assets, and supporting environmental stewardship. This role is responsible for leading and strengthening our safety culture by developing, implementing, and maintaining effective health and safety programs that meet regulatory requirements and industry best practices. The ideal candidate brings strong experience in the oil, gas, mining, or construction sectors and understands the unique risks and operational demands of these industries. The Health & Safety Manager will oversee injury and illness management, regulatory compliance tracking for service employees, and lead incident investigation and emergency response programs. This role will be based in Kamloops and operate out of the Kamloops Corporate Office. Regular travel to communities where we operate is required. Key Responsibilities Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive health and safety programs, policies, and procedures aligned with industry best practices and applicable regulations Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements Provide technical guidance and support to management and employees on health and safety matters, including hazard identification, risk assessment, and incident investigation Develop and deliver health and safety training programs to increase employee awareness of safety procedures, hazard recognition, and emergency response protocols Investigate incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and implementing corrective and preventative actions in collaboration with leadership Monitor and report on health and safety performance, trends, and KPIs to senior management while recommending continuous improvement initiatives Liaise with regulatory agencies, industry associations, and other stakeholders to stay informed of evolving health and safety regulations and best practices Participate in emergency response planning and drills and serve as a member of the emergency response team when required Qualifications CRSP or equivalent Canadian Health & Safety certification is considered an asset Experience with ISNet or similar compliance platforms is preferred Minimum 5 years of experience as a Health & Safety Officer in mining, construction, and/or oil & gas environments Extensive knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Regulations, Workers Compensation requirements, and relevant provincial legislation Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and industry best practices Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills Strong interpersonal, communication, and training abilities Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Experience with health and safety management software and implementation of a Safety Management System (SMS) is an asset Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to shifting priorities Willingness to travel regularly to worksites and be available on-call for emergencies As part of our hiring process, candidates will be asked to: Complete a drug and alcohol screening with a negative result Provide copies of current certifications (if training is required to access sites, we will support obtaining it) Provide a clean drivers abstract and hold a valid Class 5 drivers license We sincerely thank all applicants for their interest; however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
