Job Description

The Opportunity: ML6 is currently seeking a Design and Additive Lab Technician for our client based in Stoney Creek, ON. Reporting to the Design, Innovation & Product Development Manager, this is an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of additive manufacturing and product innovation within the automotive sector. This role is ideal for someone who is hands-on, mechanically inclined, and passionate about exploring new technologies. Youll have the chance to work on cutting-edge projects, develop new skills, and play a key role in pushing the boundaries of design and advanced manufacturing. What Youll Be Doing: Operate and maintain design test lab equipment and additive manufacturing systems, including 3D printers. Prepare materials and conduct quality checks to support the development of prototypes and production components. Fabricate fixtures and assist with component and prototype assembly as needed. Utilize, or quickly develop proficiency in, CAD software to support part design and print preparation. Perform testing using specialized equipment to validate component performance, accuracy, and structural integrity. Troubleshoot and refine additive manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency and overall print quality. Accurately document procedures, test results, and observations through detailed lab and technical reports. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at optimizing lab operations and manufacturing processes. What Youll Need to Be Successful: College or university degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related discipline preferred. Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience. Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience using tools and equipment. Familiarity with additive manufacturing technologies, equipment, and materials. Experience operating testing equipment and ensuring products meet quality standards. Exposure to CAD software, or the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new design tools. Highly detail-oriented with strong documentation skills, including the ability to prepare lab records and test reports. Compensation Range: $60,000 - $75,000
