Prepared Foods Supervisors support and follow ICS mission and values. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITY Technical Responsibilities - Prioritize providing exceptional customer service to deliver a positive customer experience thereby cultivating a positive reputation for the company and fostering customer loyalty. - Serves as a brand ambassador for the Massimo product line, demos, presentations, etc. - Takes ownership of food quality and assembly, ensuring a consistent product. - Supervises, schedules and coordinates activities of food preparation and cleaning staff. - Makes purchases or requisitions for ingredients, kitchen supplies, and recommendations on building and equipment maintenance. - Tracks production dates and ensures food safety standards are followed. - Ensure that portion control and recipes are followed by all kitchen staff. - Tastes, smells, and observes food to ensure conformance with recipes and appearance standards. - Ensures that the kitchen and kitchen staff is clean, organized, neat appearance and offers a safe place to work. - Enforces and follows the companys food safety and kitchen cleaning and sanitization standards. - Administrative tasks such as reviewing invoices, ordering and documenting process and procedures. - Assists with Department plans and budgets, including labour budgets achieved through effective scheduling, measuring results, allocating resources, reviewing progress and making mid-course corrections as required. - Assists in implementing the Strategy for the Department. - Assists with payroll for the department. - Assists in reviewing the prices on a quarterly basis. Team Building - Builds a strong, cohesive team where employees feel they contribute and are valued. - Grows their team and empowers employees to make decisions on their own. - Delegates responsibilities to their employees. - Identifies key performers and provides opportunities for growth, development and advancement. Staffing - Supervises the work of the kitchen employees.Ensures schedules are completed and posted for employees in a timely manner.In conjunction with Human Resources, recruits and selects new kitchen staff.Holds monthly staff meetings to keep employees informed of operations and company news. Employee Relations - Provides employee with regular feedback on their performance. - Follows up with staff on any breach of company policy and ensure proper progressive discipline forms are completed. Training and Development - Provides standardized training for all new and existing employees, including health and safety. QUALIFICATIONS Education - Alberta Food Handling/Food Safety Certificate required. - High School or GED from an accredited school system or program is preferred. - Educated in cooking: culinary arts, general studies or food sciences considered an asset but not required. Experience - At minimum of one year of experience in banquet catering, commissary kitchen, or cafeteria is required. - Past restaurant/kitchen supervisor or management experience is considered an asset. Skills and Abilities - Ability to cook and is knowledgeable in commercial kitchen equipment. - Excellent listening skills and communication skills, both verbal and written. - Ability to work under pressure, while maintaining a professional image at all times. - Work independently with little direct supervision. - Have a well-balanced concern for both task and people. - Ability to delegate duties and responsibilities. - Have a genuine concern for needs of customers. WORKING CONDITIONS - Job requires employee to work a variety of shifts including mornings, days, evenings, weekends and holidays. - Also required to work with challenging customers and/or situations. - Tasks are performed in varying temperatures (i.e. near stoves and ovens, in and out of refrigerators and freezers). PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS - Job requires a variety of standing, walking and sitting. - Job may include manual and repetitive tasks. - Lifting for short periods of time of up to 22.5 kg/50 lbs. #J-18808-Ljbffr
