Regional Emergency Services (RES) in Fort McMurray is seeking experienced fire and EMS professionals to help design and deliver modern training programs that prepare Firefighter Paramedics for the realities of emergency response. As a Training Officer, you will lead the development and delivery of operational training that supports a fully integrated Fire and EMS department. This role plays a key part in building operational readiness by mentoring firefighters and paramedics, developing scenario-based training, and supporting the ongoing professional development of our members. SKILLS - Advanced instructional delivery and adult education techniques - Curriculum development and program implementation - Strong communication, presentation, and facilitation abilities - Coaching, mentorship, and leadership skills - Strategic planning and organizational skills - Proficiency with training technology, databases, and Microsoft Office applications EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE - NFPA 1001 Level I and II - NFPA 1002 Driver Operator - NFPA 1002 Pump Operator - NFPA 1140 Wildland (NFPA 1051) - NFPA 470 Dangerous Goods Awareness and Operations - NFPA 1041 Level I Instructor - Pro Board or IFSAC seals for all qualifications The following are considered preferred qualifications, in addition to the above requirements: - Registered as a PCP or ACP with the Alberta College of Paramedics - NFPA 1002 Ariel Operator - NFPA 1006 Rope Technician - NFPA 1006 Common Passenger Vehicle Rescue Technician - NFPA 1041 Level II Instructor - NFPA 470 Dangerous Goods Technician - NFPA 1021 Level I and II Officer - Pro Board or IFSAC seals for all qualifications - Valid First-Aid Instructor Certification - Valid Basic Cardiac Life-Support (CPR) Instructor Certification OTHER REQUIREMENTS - Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search. - A valid Class Three (3) Operators Licence is required as incumbent will be required to operate a personal or municipal vehicle for business use on a regular basis. - Q Endorsement (Air Brakes) is required. - Must be willing to work outside and drive in all weather conditions, and work evenings as required. - Must be medically and physically able to perform all duties of the position on an ongoing basis. - Ability to work evenings and weekends as required to meet operational or business needs.
