Salary Range: $78,238.00 To $85,718.00 Annually Manager, Payroll Finance (Full Time Contract) The Role and Opportunity The Canadian Mental Health Association Toronto is seeking a Manager, Payroll to join our Finance team. Reporting to the Chief Finance Officer, this position leads and develops the accounting team, ensuring smooth daytoday operations and the delivery of timely, accurate financial reporting. The Senior Manager, Finance will also champion process improvements and strengthen financial systems as the organization continues to grow and evolve.Reporting to the Chief Finance Officer, this position The Manager of Payroll & Benefits is primarily responsible for processing CMHA payroll and maintain the HRIS (ADP WorkforceNow). Principle Responsibilities and Duties: - Payroll Functions - Prepares all payrolls, salary increases, retroactive pay, direct deposit payments, and employees statements of earnings and deductions. - Verifies that all monthly and hourly rate employees are included on the payroll and notifies the People & Culture Director of any exceptions. - Computes gross pay and other deductions. - Records approved position and personnel documents. - Maintains and updates records of various types of transactions, such as employee withholding taxes (Income Tax, EI, and CPP), Registered Pension Plan contributions (RPP), Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP), Canada Savings Bond (CSB), and group insurance benefits deductions. - Responsible for the reconciliation of withholding taxes (Income Tax, EI, and CPP), group insurance benefits, Workers Safety and Insurance (WSIB) and employers health tax (EHT). - Responsible for the reconciliation of T4 (Statement of Remuneration Paid) - Updates and maintains confidential filing systems. - Consult and coordinate with People & Culture as needed in an effective and efficient manner. - Perform related duties and responsibilities as required. - General Accounting Functions - Perform general ledger accounts analysis. - Bank statement reconciliation as overseen by the Accounting Manager. - Maintain payroll registers and other financial records. - Enter journal entries to the financial systems. - Assist in monthend closing. - Assist in preparation of yearend working papers. Experience & Education Required CMHA Torontos ideal candidate will have: - Minimum Undergraduate Degree in Accounting/Finance or an equivalent. - Certified Payroll Manager (CPM) or Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certified. - Minimum three (3) years of intermediate accounting experience with responsibilities of fullcycle payroll - Experience with an HRIS payroll system, preferably ADP WorkforceNow - Strong analytical and problemsolving abilities - Ability to adapt, be flexible and take initiative - Able to work independently as well as part of a team - Excellent organizational, problemsolving, and consensus building skills and ability to handle multiple responsibilities and assign priorities - Strong interpersonal and communication skills - Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office Why Choose CMHA Toronto?
