Havas Health Toronto is looking for a Strategic Medical Writer who brings together strong scientific expertise, regulatory knowledge, and strategic thinking to shape impactful healthcare communications. This role sits at the intersection of science, strategy, and storytelling . You will translate complex clinical data into clear, compelling narratives, guide compliant messaging within the Canadian regulatory environment, and partner closely with strategy, creative, and client teams to deliver high-quality work across multiple channels. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Advanced Medical Writing & Content Development Produces scientifically rigorous, wellstructured, and audienceappropriate content (e.g., detail aids, leave behinds, medical narratives, advisory board materials, training modules, etc.). Ability to synthesize clinical data into strategic messaging hierarchies, value propositions, and strategic platforms. Maintains high editorial standardsclarity, accuracy, consistency, and evidencebased messaging. 2. Expertise in Canadian Regulatory Environment Demonstrates strong understanding and ability to navigate the complexities of PAAB , ASC , and IMC Code , aligned to Canadianspecific promotional and nonpromotional requirements. Ensures all materials (i.e., HCP, patient, unbranded, disease awareness, training) are scientifically accurate, compliant, and submissionready. Advises internal teams and clients on regulatory pathways, messaging risks, and best practices to streamline approval processes. 3. Strategic Oversight Translates complex clinical, scientific, and regulatory information into clear, compelling, insightdriven content. Partners closely with strategy, creative, and account teams to shape scientific narratives, communication frameworks, and omnichannel content rooted in brand strategy. Proactively identifies gaps, opportunities, and strategic recommendations that elevate client deliverables. 4. ClientFacing & RelationshipBuilding Strength Acts as a trusted contact for clientseffectively leading discussions and presenting strategic recommendations. Builds strong, credible relationships with brand, medical, and regulatory counterparts through proactive communication and strategic guidance. Helps guide clients through complex scientific and regulatory decisionmaking with confidence. 5. Crossfunctional Collaboration & Agency Integration Works seamlessly with strategy, creative, account, and project management partners to ensure alignment between science, strategy, and storytelling. Provides clear guidance to internal teams on scientific accuracy, feasibility, and compliance considerations throughout the content development process. Supports pitches, workshops, advisory boards, and internal training sessions. 6. Continuous Learning & Thought Leadership Stays current with therapeutic area developments, emerging data, regulatory trends, and competitive intelligence to strengthen content and strategy. Contributes to internal scientific excellence initiatives and evolving best practices within the agency. QUALIFICATIONS: Advanced scientific degree preferred (PhD, MSc, PharmD, MD, or equivalent). 6+ years of medical writing or medical communications experience , ideally within a healthcare or pharma agency. Strong experience with PAAB-governed promotional materials and the Canadian regulatory environment. Proven ability to translate complex clinical data into clear, strategic messaging . Comfortable working directly with clients and cross-functional agency teams . Additional Information This role represents an active vacancy at Havas. The base salary range for this position is CAD $120,000 to $140,000, with final compensation determined based on factors such as work location, skills, experience, and background.
