Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and personable Bartender to join our front-of-house team at House of McGrath. The ideal candidate will have strong mixology skills, a passion for hospitality, and the ability to create a welcoming, memorable experience for every guest. As a key member of our restaurant operations, the Bartender will prepare and serve beverages, engage with guests, and support seamless service in collaboration with the bar and floor staff. Duties Prepare and serve a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to house recipes and presentation standards Greet guests warmly, take drink and limited food orders at the bar, and provide attentive, personalized service throughout their visit Maintain detailed knowledge of the beverage menu, including cocktails, wine, beer, and spirits, and make recommendations based on guest preferences Ensure responsible alcohol service by checking identification, monitoring guest consumption, and adhering to all liquor laws and company policies Set up and break down the bar each shift, including stocking products, preparing garnishes, and ensuring all tools and glassware are clean and ready for service Monitor bar inventory levels and communicate ordering needs to management to prevent stock shortages Process payments accurately, handle cash and POS transactions, and reconcile tabs in line with company procedures Maintain a clean, organized, and safe bar area at all times, including regular cleaning, sanitizing, and adherence to health and safety standards Collaborate closely with servers, hosts, and kitchen staff to ensure smooth service and timely delivery of orders Support restaurant promotions and specials by explaining featured drinks to guests and upselling where appropriate Qualifications Proven experience as a Bartender in a fast-paced restaurant, bar, or hospitality setting Strong knowledge of classic cocktails, modern mixology techniques, beer, wine, and spirits Valid certifications as required by Ontario regulations (e.g., Smart Serve) and a strong understanding of responsible alcohol service Excellent customer service and communication skills with a friendly, professional demeanor Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail and drink quality Strong organizational skills, including bar setup, stock rotation, and cleanliness Comfortable working evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by business needs Demonstrated teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with front- and back-of-house staff A passion for hospitality and creating positive guest experiences, with an interest in ongoing learning about beverages and trends in the industry
