Human Resources Generalist - 18 month contract Based out of our Mississauga corporate head office and under the direction and leadership of the Manager, Human Resources, we are currently seeking an ambitious, master multi-tasker with an upbeat attitude to join our diverse and inclusive team of high achievers in the capacity of Human Resources Generalist. As a seasoned HR Generalist, you will work alongside a small but mighty team of autonomous HR professionals who partner with our restaurant leadership team to ensure the engagement and retention of our high-performance workforce. Were looking for someone with a strong HR background, ideally gained in retail or hospitality environments Act as a primary resource and liaison to address matters related to employment at the restaurant. Ensure HR Audits are executed on a timely basis, and results are communicated and acted upon. Prepare policies, procedures and training materials designed for restaurant leadership to ensure legal compliance and best practices for all phases of the employment relationship Prepare written employee correspondence and provide coaching to leadership in best practices related to employee communications. Conduct legally defensible workplace Investigations to address internal conflicts or, in response to, but not limited to, Service Canada Inquiries and Ministry of Labour investigations. Facilitate and liaise with third party vendors to administer the Early and Safe Return to Work program Support the administration of the Group Benefit Plan Program across the organization Ensure restaurant leadership has the tools, resources and support to execute employment-related matters in a timely, professional and legally compliant manner. Timely and accurate reporting/dashboard of Human Resources Activity for the purposes of trend analysis and forecasting future resources allocation. Monitor legal and internal process compliance and proactively identify opportunities to improve processes and efficiency to meet corporate objectives Requirements: An undergraduate degree in a related field and/or post-graduate certifications in HR; CHRP designation required or near completion; CHRL designation is preferred. A minimum of 3 years corporate head office experience managing a headcount of 1000+ employees across multiple sites. Preference will be given to QSR and/or retail industry experience in the provinces of Ontario, Quebec, Manitoba and Alberta. Demonstrated knowledge, skills and experience in talent management (coaching, counselling, feedback, conflict resolution, investigations, discipline, termination), occupational health and safety compliance, disability and absence management and third-party risk mitigation and legal claims management. Technologically adept at navigating a wide array of online platforms, including UKG Pro (formerly known as UltiPro by Ultimate Software). Intermediate to advanced proficiency using Microsoft Office Applications (Excel for dashboard and tracking activities including the use of pivot tables, VLOOKUP, validation tables; Word - adept using mail merge/switches; PowerPoint for training/communication etc.).
