POSITION SUMMARY The Accountant plays a key role within the finance team, supporting manufacturing operations through accurate accounting, analysis, and reporting. This position manages Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets processing and reporting, as well as assisting with reconciliations and month-end close activities. This position will report to the Accounting Manager or their designate. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Accounts Receivable: Manage the end-to-end AR process, including invoicing, payment posting, credit control, and customer account reconciliations. Monitor customer aging reports, follow up on overdue accounts, and coordinate with the sales and operations teams to resolve disputes. Ensure compliance with company credit policies and assist in optimizing cash flow. Fixed Assets Management: Maintain and update the Fixed Asset Register, ensuring all manufacturing equipment and capital projects are accurately recorded. Oversee capital expenditure (CAPEX) tracking, asset capitalization, depreciation, and disposals in accordance with company and statutory policies. Inventory Control: Support operations team on Monthly Inventory counts. Perform Inventory reserve calculation for submission to the Accounting Manager. Create and modify approved BOMs, New Inventory items, adjustments. Other Inventory analysis as required. Reconciliations & Financial Reporting: Perform bank, balance sheet, accounts receivable, inventory, and intercompany reconciliations. Support month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, accruals, and variance analysis. Compliance & Audit: Support internal and external audit processes, ensuring all financial records are accurate and complete. Maintain strong internal controls and recommend process improvements to strengthen financial accuracy. SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE Degree or Diploma in Accounting or related field; enrollment in CPA program preferred. 35 years of progressive accounting experience within a manufacturing environment. Strong understanding of Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, and Inventory management. Experience with ERP systems, preferably SAGE. Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills. Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
