Join Albertas Assessment Services Branch and help shape fair, consistent, and correct property assessments that support municipalities and communities province wide. This opportunity offers challenge, collaboration, and meaningful impactincluding exposure to a wide range of designated industrial property types such as major plants, industrial sites, and linear property facilities. Prepare designated industrial property assessments and contribute to the provincial assessment roll. Conduct field inspections and verify property inventory for accuracy. Analyze complex data to support valuation models and assessment processes. Collaborate with municipalities, property owners, and industry representatives to maintain effective relationships. Defend assessments before the Land and Property Rights Tribunal as part of a team, including acting as an expert witness when required. Develop and review Requests for Information (RFI) to gather essential property data. Prepare reports, briefing notes, and impact analyses to support policy and operational decisions. This position requires regular travel throughout Alberta. Qualifications Any of the following designations: Accredited Municipal Assessor of Alberta (AMAA); Accredited Appraiser Canadian Institute (AACI); Certified Assessment Evaluator (CAE); Member Institute of Municipal Assessors (MIMA). A related university degree and a minimum of four (4) years of related experience. Equivalencies will be considered. Valid Alberta Class 5 drivers licence or equivalent, and ability to travel within Alberta. Experience in the preparation, delivery, and defense of property assessments. Equivalencies Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of a related two-year diploma and a minimum of six (6) years of related experience. Assets A minimum of five years of experience in the preparation, delivery and defense of industrial property assessments using acceptable approaches and massappraisal techniques. Subject Matter Expert on oil and gas field equipment and facilities, or other heavy industrial equipment. In depth knowledge of reading and interpreting process and instrumentation drawings for the determination of DI property assessments. Comprehensive working knowledge of the Municipal Government Act and related legislation. Analytic and logical reasoning skills. Knowledge about the administration of a municipality. Strong awareness of provincial policies and legal precedents. Term of Employment 2 - Permanent fulltime positions with 36.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
