PRIVATE EQUITY Founded in 2017, KV Private Equity manages investor capital through direct operating company investments across three active funds. KV Private Equitys third fund is currently being deployed and is focused on acquiring manufacturing and distribution businesses that form the supply chain for Canadas real estate industry. POSITION Analyst / Associate, Private Equity LOCATION Edmonton, Alberta YOUR OPPORTUNITY We are looking for an Associate to join our Private Equity team based in Edmonton. The Associate, Private Equity is responsible for the timely and thorough reporting on active investments, support on portfolio company initiatives, analysis of investment opportunities, and research on related industries and market fundamentals. The Associate will work closely with the Private Equity team through all scopes of the transaction process and gain exposure to ongoing portfolio company operations. This position requires strong analytical and presentation skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a high-performance, fast-paced environment. KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY Portfolio Company Management Monitor portfolio investments through the regular financial reporting, valuation, and governance requirements. Collaborate with portfolio company management teams on corporate development initiatives to drive value. Support initiatives through research and modelling, including maintaining three statement financial models, annual budgeting, periodic reforecasting and scenario analysis. Maintain coverage on fundamental economic, industry, and corporate developments relevant to the firm and its portfolio investments. Transactions (M&A) Assess private company investment opportunities with a focus on building materials. Analytical requirements include: Reviewing NDAs, company presentations, data rooms and other supporting materials Conducting analyses, including valuation, financial modelling, and market research Creating new deal memorandums, outlining investment opportunities and risks Maintaining leads on proprietary targets and compile regular lead activity reports Provide ongoing support to the private equity team for target entities under due diligence with increasing responsibilities over time. General Produce professional presentations to support investor and capital markets initiatives Participate in team meetings and ensure team members are supported with research, analysis, or administrative requirements for new and existing investments Learn about other business units within KV and collaborate when required on joint projects YOUR CAPABILITIES AND CREDENTIALS 2+ years of experience in investment banking, private equity, corporate finance, transaction advisory, capital markets, or other related fields Progress towards, or completion of CFA, CPA, or CBV designation Strong interest and understanding of private market transactions, including financial modelling and deal advisory Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, with strong data management capabilities Excellent verbal and written communication skills to produce professional-quality communication material and the ability to develop and present formal / informal recommendations Strong organizational and time management skills to effectively manage multiple priorities and competing demands with tight timelines Teamwork mindset with the ability to collaborate at all levels WHAT KV CAPITAL OFFERS Competitive total compensation package, including performance-based and long-term incentives Comprehensive paid time-off package, including birthdays off and holiday office closures 100% employer-paid benefits Financial and organizational support for professional development opportunities Flexible work environment, including hybrid work offering (4 days in office, 1 day remote per week).
