Our client, a growing food manufacturer based in Mississauga, is seeking a Buye r to support procurement operations. This role is responsible for sourcing raw ingredients, packaging, and related materials while ensuring reliable supply, competitive pricing, and compliance with regulatory and customer requirements. This is an onsite role. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Develop and execute sourcing strategies for raw ingredients and packaging materials to support production plans, customer requirements, and business objectives. Manage supplier selection, qualification, and performance while negotiating pricing, contracts, and commercial terms to control costs and reduce supply risk. Collaborate closely with Supply Chain, Operations, Quality, Product Development, and Sales teams to align procurement plans with demand forecasts, production schedules, and inventory strategies. Monitor market trends, commodity pricing, and supplier risks to proactively identify opportunities and mitigate potential supply disruptions. Coordinate international logistics, manage purchase orders, and ensure accurate documentation, traceability, and regulatory compliance. Maintain ERP purchasing data, track inventory levels, and support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing supply chain efficiency, cost management, and customer service. QUALIFICATIONS Post-secondary degree in a related field or equivalent work experience Minimum 3-5 years purchasing or supply chain experience, preferably in food manufacturing environment Thorough knowledge of supply chain management in manufacturing environment Ingredient commodities experience an asset Understanding of FIFO and general lean practices with continuous improvement Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office and Dynamics ERP experience an asset Exceptional organizational skills are a must and attention to detail Excellent communication skills, both written and oral Strategic planner and proactive thinker Able to work onsite.
