Looking for an experienced Housekeeping Manager to direct and control all aspects of Housekeeping Services. This position requires an ability to implement and oversee services with impeccable care, attention to detail, organization and prioritization. The incumbent must have the ability to meet with shifting priorities while executing his/her duties, train and manage staff, budgets equipment and consistently seek opportunities for process and quality improvements. Job Responsibilities Directs and administers housekeeping programs to maintain the Facility in a clean and orderly fashion in adherence to all facility policies and best practices Adheres to housekeeping standards and develops work schedules for the Facility Evaluates new processes and cleaning products/equipment; recommendations for purchase Ensures proper use of the cleaning products and equipment Responsible for staff selection, engagement, and all labour relations follow up Initiates and directs training programs to demonstrate new equipment and cleaning methods Ensures staffing patterns are in accordance with functional needs of the department Conducts regular scheduled performance leadership reviews Adheres to departmental policies and procedures, evaluates effectiveness; recommends changes Develops and holds department accountable to the Quality Assurance program Ensures a safe environment to comply with the Occupational Health and Safety guidelines Dedicated to reducing slips, trips, fire, exposure to dust, chemicals, and other hazards Ensures that confidentiality and privacy requirements are maintained Qualifications Secondary school diploma and completion of a Housekeeping Program or possess knowledge of environmental services and infection control procedures Candidate must be bilingual, with written and spoken English and Chinese (ideally Cantonese, secondarily Mandarin) Housekeeping experience required preferably in LTC or Senior Living Sufficient knowledge of Housekeeping and Waste Management Laws and Regulations Must possess significant attention to detail in order to inspect and uphold cleaning standards Must possess the ability to perform tasks with due consideration for residents in the area Excellent communication skills to converse with employees, colleagues and stakeholders Responsible for employee selection, orientation, management and performance appraisals
