Position Overview We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented BIM Coordinator to serve as the liaison between our structural engineering, steel detailing and project teams. The BIM Coordinator will play a central role in managing project models, ensuring accurate coordination, and representing the company in BIM coordination meetings with external consultants. This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to effectively communicate across disciplines. Key Responsibilities Act as the primary liaison between the structural engineering, steel detailing and project teams on all BIM-related matters. Represent the company in BIM coordination meetings with architects, consultants, and contractors, providing clear communication and technical input. Manage the BIM execution for structural projects, including model development, drawing set creation, and multi-discipline coordination. Oversee the development, maintain, and manage Revit and Tekla structural models in accordance with project standards. Set up and manage drawing sets, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with company and client standards. Coordinate models across disciplines using Autodesk Construction Cloud, ensuring clash detection and resolution. Support the implementation of BIM standards, workflows, and quality control processes within the company and across projects. Review drawings for accuracy and completeness on an as-needed basis. Provide guidance and mentorship to project team members in BIM best practices. Assist in the continuous improvement of the companys BIM processes and workflows. Qualifications Diploma or degree in Structural Engineering Technology, Architecture, or related field combined with 5 years of experience in the steel industry. Proven experience in BIM coordination within the structural engineering or construction sector. Proficiency in Revit, Tekla Structures, and Autodesk Construction Cloud, AutoCAD. Demonstrated experience leading projects from the BIM side, including model development, setup, and coordination. Strong understanding of BIM standards and practices. Excellent communication and organizational skills with the ability to liaise effectively across teams and with external stakeholders. Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities. Experience working with structural steel projects is a strong asset. Knowledge of industry-specific codes, standards, and modeling practices is preferred. Familiarity with clash detection software such as Navisworks or equivalent is a plus.
