They should be comfortable conducting research and analysis in order to establish a good understanding of the business at hand. They should have an interest in examining and streamlining processes in order to make them more efficient. Position: Senior Consultant: Qualified applicants should have demonstrated knowledge of economics, finance, and statistics.The applicant should have an interest in the energy industry and infrastructure and project finance related work. Senior Consultants will be involved in projects ranging from producing price forecasts for various electricity markets to constructing and analyzing financial models for asset sales and acquisitions, writing detailed evaluations of different aspects of energy markets in the US and abroad, creating testimony for regulatory and litigation proceedings, and advising private and public sector entities in regulatory economics. Candidates should have strong writing skills and the ability to convey complex concepts in a clear and concise fashion. All candidates must be comfortable working in a casual, non-hierarchical environment. Required experience: 3-5 years relevant professional experience related to energy industry/power sector; strong backgrounds in natural gas, transport, or water also considered; demonstrated ability to produce high quality quantitative and written analysis; strong, demonstrable knowledge of statistics and finance; fluency in English; experience with an ISO or similar organization is beneficial; and experience with managing projects and teams (including facilitating and attending client meetings).
