Location: Based in Edmonton, Alberta Field work across upstream oil & gas sites (travel required) with work-from-home for reporting, drawing preparation, and non-site days. About the Role (Employee Position) We are seeking a motivated Inspector with Ultrasonic Testing (UT) Level 1 certification and hands-on experience in upstream oil & gas equipment (pressure vessels, piping, tanks, etc.). Ideal candidates are either already pursuing or have the drive to become API 510 certified (Pressure Vessel Inspector) in the near term. You will perform field inspections, non-destructive testing (NDT), and create detailed isometric (ISO) drawings of vessels and piping systems. Bonus if you hold Magnetic Particle Testing (MT) Level 2 certification. Key Responsibilities Conduct Ultrasonic Testing (UT) corrosion surveys on upstream oil & gas equipment in the field to identify defects, corrosion, and integrity issues. Perform visual inspections and support pressure vessel/piping assessments in line with industry codes and standards. Prepare accurate isometric drawings (ISO/piping isometrics) of pressure vessels, piping systems, and related components using CAD or similar software Document inspection findings, write clear reports, and recommend repairs or further actions. Travel to client sites in Alberta and surrounding areas for on-site work (primarily field-based). Work remotely from home for report writing, drawing creation, data analysis, and administrative tasks when not on site. Collaborate with clients, engineers, and team members to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements. Qualifications & Requirements Required: Certified Ultrasonic Testing (UT) Level 1 (or higher) per CGSB, ASNT, or equivalent. Some experience inspecting upstream oil & gas equipment (e.g., vessels, piping, wellhead equipment, tanks). Ability to create isometric (ISO) drawings of vessels and piping Based in the Edmonton area. Valid drivers license with clean abstract, and willingness to travel for field work. Strong attention to detail, safety focus, and good communication skills. Eligible to work in Canada. Strongly Preferred / Assets: Drive and commitment to obtain API 510 certification (Pressure Vessel Inspector) we support training for the right candidate. Magnetic Particle Testing (MT) Level 2 certification. Additional NDT methods or related experience.
