Role Overview: Fenzi North America is seeking a Purchasing Manager to lead procurement and sourcing strategy across our North American operations. This newly created role is responsible for developing supplier partnerships, negotiating contracts, and driving cost efficiencies while ensuring supply continuity. As our procurement leader for North America, you will play a key role in strengthening supplier relationships across North America, Europe, and Asia, while identifying opportunities to improve cost structure, sourcing strategy, and operational efficiency. This is an excellent opportunity for a high-performing procurement professional ready to step into a strategic leadership role, even if you have not previously held a formal management title. You will oversee procurement activities and work closely with an operational Purchasing & Inventory Specialist responsible for order execution and logistics coordination. Accountabilities Include: Strategic Procurement Leadership Lead purchasing and sourcing strategy for Fenzi North America. Develop long-term supplier partnerships across North America, Europe, and Asia. Negotiate supplier agreements, pricing structures, and service levels. Identify alternative sourcing strategies to strengthen supply resilience. Manage supplier performance and drive continuous improvement. Cost Optimization & Value Creation Drive cost reduction initiatives through strategic negotiations, supplier consolidation, and sourcing optimization. Analyze purchasing spend to identify opportunities for cost savings and operational efficiencies. Partner with leadership to improve procurement processes and cost structures. Monitor global market trends impacting materials, logistics, and supplier pricing. Procurement & Supply Oversight Maintain accountability for purchasing across Canadian and U.S. operations. Ensure materials availability while balancing inventory levels and working capital. Provide direction to the Purchasing & Inventory Specialist responsible for order placement and logistics coordination. Collaborate with Fenzis global sourcing teams to align procurement strategy. Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with sales, operations, logistics, and finance teams to support business growth. Provide purchasing insights that support operational planning and forecasting. Communicate procurement strategy and supplier performance to leadership. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Include: Post-secondary education in supply chain management, business or related field. 5-7 years of experience in a procurement, sourcing, buying or purchasing role in manufacturing or industrial environments. Experience in managing a team would be an asset. Proven negotiation skills with suppliers and managing vendor relationships. Experience working with global suppliers and international sourcing. Demonstrated ability to drive cost reductions and procurement efficiencies. Highly analytical, with a focus on problem solving. Strong communication and relationship management abilities. Ability to maintain professionalism, tact, and integrity in dealings with vendors and colleagues. Results-driven with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong follow-up and follow-through abilities. Proficient in MS Office (especially Excel); experience with Sage300 or similar inventory management software is an asset. Willingness to travel to vendor locations or company sites as needed. Ability to lift 25 lbs.
